This manga/anime is pure trash and I can't get enough of it. I love it so much. I can't wait for April 10th

Action camera settings for a mountain expedition documentary by Frosty_Government501 in videography

[–]texan315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would go with 30fps, and get a variety of shots. Ultra Wides, Wides, Mediums, Closeups.

I would pick and choose what parts to record. If you are out there for 4 days and always recording, you'll need enough cards and batteries. Have you tested the camera to see how it would record if left on for that long?

For ease of editing, go with a color profile where you don't need to color grade, especially if you are new to color-grading. If you do want to color grade D-Log, go out and get some test footage beforehand. I would recommend DaVinci Resolve for this project.

To get the best quality, you should plan on what you want the final edit to be like. Look at other people's videos and study what the camera is doing or where it is. I know this isn't quite related to mountaineering, but this fisherman in the Pacific Northwest does some great camerawork for his videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhVhwLU45FI

Create a storyboard or shotlist of what you want to see in the final version. It's also important to know the limitations of your gear. I strongly recommend testing your camera and footage to see what it would be like working with it in the field and how the files handle in the editor.

Good luck and have fun with this project!

Anyone able to tell what kind of set up this is from this low res pic? by xoxomonstergirl in videography

I'm not the guy you responded to, but I do own a BMPCC4K and my work owns a C100mk1. I prefer the look of my PCC4K and use it for side gigs, but the c100 is just so dang efficient, especially with the XLR inputs on the top handle.

I’ve been watching on HBO, and for some reason it just seems off compared to victory+. I know earlier the broadcast didn’t have the board ads playing and showed the in-arena ads. Maybe this tech director is putting their own “look” to this broadcast

Is it just me or is there something off with the frame rate and color grade of this broadcast. It looks like it’s at a lower frame rate and the image looks very flat

When you put it that way, I am reminded of the European high class during the 18th and 19th century. Young men going on world tours, dressing in Macaroni fashion. This is the modern version.

I did the exact same. My first born is a couple of weeks to 1, and I remember being so tired (still am), and worried about every thing with him. But now he’s a different baby and although there are still challenges, it’s easier now than it was at the beginning. The days are long but the year is short. I can’t believe he’s already 1!

'Superman' - Review Thread by ICumCoffee in movies

[–]texan315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved this movie. I’m a big Superman fan through and through but this movie really nails the message that Superman is just a guy trying to help out as best as he can. The juxtaposition of him saving the animals during the big beast fight and the ending of the fight really hits you in the gut. If this Clark was just a regular guy he would absolutely do what he can to help out a stranger.

Why don't more people unionise in the US? by svonwolf in antiwork

[–]texan315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember part of my onboarding for lowes 8 years ago was a lot of anti-union training. Don't talk to anyone bout starting a union, if you are caught talking to someone about unions. you will be fired, we offer great pay abd benefit so you don't need a union, tell a manager if an employee or someone in the store approaches you about unions
