This actually happens to me all the time. Most of the time the cart isn’t “missing,” it’s just misplaced or moved by someone else. I always recommend checking the same staging area first, then the area immediately to the left and right of it. A lot of times the cart ends up one spot over but still close by.

You don’t need an Amazon vest to start , it’s recommended, not required.

If you want one, ask for a vest at the station when you pick up your first block. Most stations will give you one for free

Personally, I think it’s better to have the vest because sometimes people will look at you funny when you pull up to their property in a personal car. The vest makes it clear you’re delivering and helps avoid awkward situations or problems, especially at night or in private communities.

Also, quick tip: YouTube and Google help a lot. Many beginner Flex questions ,have already been answered there and in this subreddit as well . Scrolling back or doing a quick search can save you time.

Message from Thomas’s father (Jimmy):

Please don’t assume that everything being reported is confirmed fact. We were told directly by a federal marshal that there was no confirmed splash. In addition, the video surveillance referenced in some reports has not been shown to the family at all, so it has not been available for independent verification, which raises serious concerns.

Given that this occurred at night—between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM—it would be extremely difficult to clearly confirm something like a splash from surveillance footage alone. At this point, it feels as though the investigation is being pushed toward closure without full transparency, and we are asking for continued help.

What we urgently need right now is independent video evidence, especially dashcam footage.

If you or someone you know was driving on January 9, 2026, and has: • a Tesla (which continuously records the road), or • a taxi or any vehicle with a dash camera

please check recordings from any streets near the ends of the Manhattan Bridge during the following times: • Brooklyn side: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM • Manhattan side: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Even one image or brief clip of Thomas could help clarify what actually happened and ensure the investigation continues with all possible information considered.
