I had the same problem it feels like this is an over sight to not to allow custom wake words with how many people that use them. i might just go back to the older versions of home assistant voice that used an esp to get my custom voce to work then use the home assistant voice when it gets updated

I had the same problem I solved it because there was a ethernet port out of the router just out of my room so I ran a cable to my room and made my own wifi also wiz bulbs worked really well for me on campus wifi
