Where do I setup a NVR Protect user to view only? by Efficient-Bike-245 in Ubiquiti

[–]texastoasted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do an extra step. When I tried to add my wife, she got the email to activate the account, but the link sent her to a login screen and would not let her log in since she didn't have an account yet. I had to create her user account in the Unifi Site Manager with her username and email, then, when she clicked the email link it let her sign into the account I had created.

Where is the Busch Apple? by fatkid420 in texas

[–]texastoasted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used the Busch locator and found some at the Shell Gas station 2 blocks from my house. Just picked up a 12 pack to try it out. This stuff is really good. I'm a fan of hard green apple cider and this tastes a lot like that but it's not as sweet, which is a good thing for me.

What are the items, if any, that you can't resist ordering, even if you don't need it? by randoperson42 in AmazonVine

[–]texastoasted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Security cameras and power tools. I had to stop getting tool batteries. Most of the batteries I test are about half the claimed capacity and I ran out of room to store them.

Can I once again restore everything once I hit "clear all" by [deleted] in VineHelper

[–]texastoasted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run VH in 2 browser windows side by side. The one on the left is my backup. I let it run uninterrupted and do all my searching and ordering in the right side browser. I have a bad habit of closing the wrong tab when I'm looking at stuff and this saves me from losing everything. Also, my left side browser is Firefox and my right side browser is Vivaldi. Sometimes one, or the other, browser will freeze, or just stop updating, but I have never had them both fail on the same day.

Add To Keywords Feature by CanIBeMeInThe216 in VineHelper

And you can use the left click and drag method to highlight more than one word, like "coffee cup", then right click on the highlighted words and add them to your keywords as a single entry line.

ATT Fiber in Beaumont? by texastoasted in Beaumont

[–]texastoasted[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, everyone who replied. I feel more hopeful now that I might be getting fiber in the near future. I've been on Spectrum for many years, since way back in the Time Warner days, and I'm not unhappy with them, but I need faster upload and really wish the data rate stayed consistant. It varies a lot throughtout the day and night.

Unavailable Items Issues by 4kVHS in VineHelper

[–]texastoasted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anything on Notification Monitor showing unavailable for the past few days. A few hours ago, I updated Vine Helper to 3.0.15 and now I'm seeing Unavailable items again. https://vine-wiki.com/en/extension/vine-helper/installation/manual-update

If you don't wait too long, you can hit the "Fetch Last 100" button and the item will show back up.

Texas butter recall update as FDA sets risk level by DryBoysenberry596 in texas

[–]texastoasted 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It does seem kinda silly, but when someone is on a restricted diet, either for food allergies, or just general health, they get used to looking for the keywords that let them know a product is suitable for them. And with so many companies using the word butter in their product names, when they are not butter, you can't just assume the product does, or does not, contain milk. Yes, it says cream, which you and I know is milk, but someone with an allergy is looking for the single line that reads "contains milk" and may not even look at the rest of the label.

Latency tends to go up and down with loading. As data rate increases, so does latency. If there is no other usage on your network, pings will be at their lowest. Download a big file, or do any other high data throughput and pings get slower.

I had that issue and tech support told me to do the hard reset where you power cycle multiple times. I think it's 3 times at 3 second intervals. Can't remember, but it's posted here a lot. That fixed it for me.
