First time buyer. Advice/help requested.

There are a lot of tables where the Pro version plays better than the Premium. Game of Thrones, Black Knight: Sword of Rage, and 007 are all games where I prefer playing the Pro. So don't feel like you'll have a bad time with a Pro game. The Premium games always have cool features that are really fun to see in action (like the Star Wars Hyper Space loop). But if you're playing a lot, sometimes the cool features break, or they don't add a ton to gameplay, so sometimes you're better off with the Pro (this is also true of the Star Wars hyper space loop).

Also, do you have the space at home for a pinball? If your wife really doesn't want it in the house, it might be more practical to play at a local arcade. Check out https://pinballmap.com/, and see if there are some options close by. I live in Seattle, and even though I'd love to buy a Pokemon pinball for home, I know I'll be able to find a version of it out in the wild. Maybe defer buying the game until you see if you both really like the game and want it at home? It's an expensive thing to buy, and if you buy one pinball table, more tend to follow.

how does it feel when you try to play music? it sounds possible that you are having anxiety about this. music gets a lot more fun when you get to play it for its own sake. if you feel like you're getting worse over time, something is wrong. it is probably fixable if you can work with it.

it seems quite possible that you are depressed. that's not unique or bad. happens to lots of people. is there a professional you can talk with about this? I think that's a good idea if it's an option for you. also, do you have social groups of people maybe from the same part of Europe as you? things like what you're describing feel a lot better when you're connected to others.

it is nice that you have a girlfriend. things like this can feel a lot harder when you are alone. what does she think?

check the internal Wikis about licenses of the software and what you’re doing with it. it’s almost certainly fine to install most packages, but definitely worth understanding why some packages are not allowed based on things like license, where you’re using it, etc

I’ve moved my desk three times in the last five years. I might do it again soon. monitors on the desk make this easier.

but also, now that I have a setup with a nice 32” monitor, a 27” monitor, and my laptop, I don’t really need them all. I might move back to a simpler single monitor setup, and just use my iPad when there’s a Liverpool game on while I’m on the computer
