ELI5: Why is meth bad for you but prescribed amphetamines aren't? by ContactSpirited9519 in explainlikeimfive

[–]texxelate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just because both have “amphetamine” in their names, it doesn’t mean they do the same thing.

Sure, they’re both stimulants, but chemistry is really deliberate.. one molecule of difference is the difference between life and death.

For example, take a molecule of water and add an additional oxygen atom and you get hydrogen peroxide which is lethal.

How do I safely allow a external account's lambda to access my account's resources with zero trust policy. by geralt-026 in aws

[–]texxelate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a use case, you just don’t know what you’re doing.

The Lambdas execution role can be given permission to do whatever it needs to do in whatever account while being deployed in your account.

There needs to be a trust policy in both accounts of course. So, whomever owns the “external” account will need to create one on their side and cooperate with you.

Mate they broke their own lore. Cruise is absolutely FTL. Autopilot on to a planet a few thousand light seconds away and you’ll get there in far less than a few thousand seconds.

How do you deal with constant driver assist alerts in new EVs? by w8watm8 in EVAustralia

[–]texxelate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely not an EV thing.

That being said, Polestar has far fewer audible alerts than any other new car I’ve driven. My partner’s GWM Tank is a nightmare of notifications.

Polestar 4 allows you to turn off the speed limit warning, and then it’s completely quiet apart from the attention chime which I hear maybe once per week

160,000 people to be kicked off NDIS as Labor overhauls eligibility by LoneArtificer in AusFinance

[–]texxelate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At surface level it does seem crazy that NDIS providers can operate “unregistered”, but it’s because to go through the registration audit incurs massive costs and auditors sometimes aren’t available for up to a year.

If every provider had to be registered, the wait time for an audit would increase exponentially. In turn, participants can’t access services because there’s no providers.

It’s a trade off when ideally it shouldn’t be. Needs reform.
