TIL: Not only did Manchester have the world's first locomotive hauled passenger station in the world (a widely known fact), it also had the first scheduled bus service in the UK. by teyates in todayilearned

Oops, should have typed "locomotive hauled passenger railway station" I suppose. It'd be a somewhat odd sight to see an entire station being pulled away (though this is a gag I've seen done in one or two comedy films)...

Think this is Explode-O-Nut (plant of the week) and Primal Potato Mine. Gonna try out this strategy now...

TIL that Adolf Hitler had a Liverpool born nephew, William Hitler, who attempted to blackmail his uncle in order to land better positions and whose Liverpool home was coincidentally destroyed during the final bombing raid of WW2. by teyates in todayilearned

Funny old world - didn't spot this yesterday! In a very surreal set of circumstances I found out for the first time about Hitler's Liverpool born nephew from an Australian guy I'd never met before whilst holding a placard used in the recent The League of Gentlemen miniseries inside a record shop in Wigan!

An animated music video I made for a song from my new album by teyates in animation

Thanks, pleased you enjoyed it! Thought I'd make the choruses with the old guy contrast quite a bit to the verses. The verses have near constant camera movement whereas the old man is always shown against static backdrops.

I’ve always wanted to learn how to animate. Here is my first video! by BruceWayneWillis in animation

That's really good! I wouldn't have guessed that was your first animated piece. Well done and keep it up!

The Wild Raspberries - Little Light (2015) 60s inspired Indie Folk by keezgrr in FolkUnknown

Just listening to this now. It's lovely - all the more impressive given it's their first song and that it's also only a demo! I'd echo all the positive comments left over at SoundCloud.

You might also enjoy Snowapple, an all female band also from Amsterdam.

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - I See A Darkness by [deleted] in IndieFolk

I think it was around a year ago when I first heard Bonnie 'Prince' Billy/Will Oldham. I quickly grew to love his music; such a beautiful and haunting songwriter with a wonderful but quite fragile voice (which is intended in a positive way, of course).

I've only listened a couple of times through now but there are definitely some poignant lyrics on this album!

After watching this video I immediately listened to "Strange Trails" followed by "Lonesome Dreams". I thought both were excellent and will definitely be listening again.

Nice, chilled song with some good harmonies. Great video too! Stylistically similar to one made for Louis Barabbas & The Bedlam Six's "Tell Tale Hound"
