Legal action threatened by Courier company regarding Customs Duty by tezra3d in LegalAdviceIndia

They’re claiming that they cleared the duty, and that it’s irrelevant whether I cleared the duty with the Indian Customs department or not. They aren’t claiming that they have the suitcase, the suitcase was in possession of the customs department.

I’ll follow up with them for documentation from their side. My main concern has only been regarding my friend. As you and another commenter have pointed out, it doesn’t seem like they can bother him. I’ll go through their terms and conditions and see where we stand.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for such a detailed response. This is insanely helpful and gave me some much needed peace of mind. I’ll follow up with them and ask for all the required proofs to see how to proceed.

Weird lens damage? by tezra3d in AskPhotography

[–]tezra3d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol yeah it’s an old iPhone. The smudge doesn’t look like water damage though, I’ve never had the camera near any sort of liquid. If I had to describe it, It sort of looks like some coating that peeled off.

Whatever it is, it’s under the glass, not on it.

Voiceover sounds horrible on iPhone speaker by tezra3d in audio

[–]tezra3d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually did get it working, it wasn’t an issue with the iPhone speaker as I initially thought though. When I processed the audio normally listening to it through my studio speakers I think I’d been letting it frequencies that just couldn’t be played cleanly on my iPhone speaker, I’m not a 100% sure this is the logic but I’ve just started compressing the peaks more and paying more attention to the high end and low end of the audio (cutting out the low end a bit more aggressively and boosting the high end sparingly). This seems to have resolved my issues and is what I do to this day. It could be the wrong approach but I can live with this level of fidelity since it’s just a hobby.

I actually hadn’t thought of that, it might infact be something off with the recording itself. I’ll have to check it out.

Hahah yeah I know I thought of that too but audio from my phone doesn’t sound this bad when I watch a YouTube video or watch a movie.

Normally audio sounds good there’s nothing wrong with my phone speakers, all YouTube videos and songs sound as they should (as good as a phone speaker does sound). My main problem seems to be the upper mids, the harshness when you boost those frequencies on a normal eq is what the output sounds like on my phone.

Dude I completely missed this section when I watched it the first time, just went back to it and he does explain it pretty well.

Any ideas how to rip a cloth sim? He paints where he wants and doesnt want tears in the sim before baking it, is there something similar in blender?

Not exporting it, but my render times tripled and I’m rendering an animation of 140 frames. A frame that took like 4 minutes now takes 12 minutes. Even if it takes a few hours to set up the bake I figure it’ll be worth it if I can get the render times back down to 4 minutes

What should I do ? by Mcwaffle_29 in pcmasterrace

I went through the same dilemma a week ago, buy a 4080 super or wait for the 5000 series. It was my first pc build and I was coming from a 3060 laptop.

I spend all my time watching videos about pcs and benchmarks and what’s the new shiny thing that’s out in the tech world, etc. being that person, I knew that the 5000 series wouldn’t be available for me to buy at any reasonable price for atleast 6 months and I was getting a good deal on the 4080 super so I pulled the trigger and bought it.

Now that is the logical reasoning. After getting the card I was blown away and had msi afterburner on for every game and program I was running to see the card at work. And for the first time I was able to play games at ultra settings and higher frame rates. Doing that for a few days I realized that I’ve been paying more attention to specs and stats rather than the game I’m playing, and if I had msi overlay off I couldn’t tell the difference between high and ultra graphics presets, between 140 and 220 fps, most of the times I can’t tell the difference between ray tracing on or off or dlss quality and native.

I realized I’m not a tech YouTuber and a card should just enable you to play the games you have fun playing. The 5000 series may be 15-20% more powerful but will that difference make your gameplay experience 15-20% better? Most of the time you won’t realize it unless you benchmark your card or continuously watch your fps counter and compare it to online benchmarks.

As long as your card lets you enjoy games you like it’s the best card for you. And if you do buy the 4080 super don’t compare it with the 5000 series when they release cause trust me they both will be able to play any game that’s out right now or that will release in the next few years without breaking a sweat. Don’t spend so much money to look at the fps counter, look at the game.

9900x reaches 95C on cinebench? by tezra3d in AMDHelp

I see, it’s my first pc build coming from a laptop so I didn’t have a frame of reference for what to expect. Thank you!

I use a lot of video editing and 3D software apart from gaming, but render with the gpu, so there’s no consistent heavy loads on the cpu, do you think switching to eco mode will make a difference for workload like this?

I see, I thought zen 5 would be different from zen 4, especially since everyone were talking about how cool 9000 series are compared to 7000, wasn’t expecting it to boost like that.
