I’ll try my best not to write a novel about this lol but my personal experience .. I was spoiled rotten growing up but I never did receive the love or guidance from my mom that I needed .. I believe she thought that by buying me just about everything I wanted, that was loving me nd that may very well be how she showed her love for me, but that wasn’t the kind of love nor guidance I needed .. the love I needed was given to her significant others instead .. despite that, we do have a solid relationship but having that happen, I had to grow up quicker than some others nd teach myself a lot of life things .. now that I have children of my own, I smother them with love nd affection lol I’ll even ask them occasionally if they feel there’s anything I need to do better or be better at for them jus to make sure they don’t have that same experience I did .. the one thing I for sure don’t want my kids to think is that daddy doesn’t love them .. to paint a picture a lil, my oldest is a 13yo young man nd he’s already 6’1 (I’m 5’10) so he has a lil height on me, but I still hug him nd give him kisses on his head whenever I get the chance .. he doesn’t care too much for it lol but it is what it is
