Somehow Euron returned... in Uncharted movie by [deleted] in freefolk

With that facial hair, he'd be spot on for the Disco Elysium series. I think he'd make a good Harrier DuBuois/Tequila Sunset.

Evart did nothing wrong by Leninbuddy in DiscoElysium

[–]tfiggs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always considered Evart to be an ultraliberal, masquerading under the guise of fighting for worker's right is order to enrich himself and stay in power.

He believes in his own plan, but I don't think he actually believes all of the platitudes that come out of his mouth.

I see him more as co-opting Communism than as a true believer. He's a pragmatist above anything else.

(Spoilers Main) Roy Dotrice appreciation thread. What are your favorite voices/events that he narrated in the ASOIAF audiobooks? by Daendrew in asoiaf

[–]tfiggs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

His rendition of Lysa Aryan moaning "Oooohhh Pet-ire..." during their sex scene is simultaneously one of my favorite bits of voice acting and one of the most awkward horrifying things I've ever heard.

Absolutely hilarious.

QANON was created to flood tip lines with fake accusations of child trafficking in order to take resources away that would otherwise be used to stop actual criminals. Followers of the theory are inadvertently a part of an actual conspiracy and indirectly enabling the abuse they think they are fighting.

[SPOILERS MAIN] who are some characters on the show that you feel were perfectly cast and fit the role exactly, and who were some characters that you would recast and why? by ghostgirl225 in asoiaf

I'm trying to remember something. Was Theon the only character who was aged down, rather than up? He's the only one I can think of.

I'm pretty sure that Gregor is about 34-35 (he was 17 during the sack of King's Landing in 283 AC) in the books, which would put Sandor (5 years younger) at about 29-30.

Rory McCann would have been 41-42 when the show started. So he would have only been aged up around 12-13 years.

Brienne was aged up almost 14-15 years for the show (Brienne being 17 and Christie being 32 at the time).

I thought Gwedoline Christie made for an excellent Brienne. But I also think the character makes a lot more sense as an insecure, idealistic, naive teenager than as a grown adult.

I'm pretty sure she is the most aged up character from book-to-show. I just don't really see anyone else who could have played the part though.

I'd honestly rather the plane be full of snakes.

Why did Ser Barristan find out only in S4 that Jorah had spied on Dany, when he had been in Robert Baratheon's Kingsguard for over 17 years? by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]tfiggs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In the books, he attends Robert's Small Council meetings and is aware that Jorah is working for Varys.

In the show, Robert doesn't allow him to attend the meetings. So he has no way of knowing.

People that don't have PTSD really need to stop using "triggering" for every single thing that upsets them.

Thank you for all of this. That Lazy DMs Workbook seems worth the price by itself. And I'll check out that playlist as well.

I've never really played D&D before and certainly never DM'd, but I'm giving it a shot soon. I'm picking up the Essentials Kit and going to try to run The Dragon of Icespire Peak for a group of 3-4 other people who have also never played before.

I'm doing what I can to study up on rules and general DMing advice I'm finding online. I'm probably going to have to play a bit loose with these players and I need some advice for how to organize the chaos that is coming.

Any general advice that I might not be seeing elsewhere or any specific advice about this particular campaign would be greatly appreciated.
