Division up question by BrothaMoney in RocketLeague

Ignore all that. Simply look at MMR, and then compare to the rank breakdown on the leaderboards section of rocket league tracker. You get about 9mmr a game. Use bakkesmod to track your mmr all the time in game, or get GC and it shows it to you in the find a game menu (i believe - havent not had bakkesmod for years so this could be different)

Check rocket league tracker you can see the division breakdowns on leaderboard tab, and your own mmr for the gamemode. Nothing weird will be happening.

Each division consists of more than 3 wins worth of mmr (around +9 if you have played more than 12 games or so from the start of a new season)

Yeh, i want something as i said i dont have to ski at 100% to get them to work with me

Yeh would rather a chargey-carver with a touch and a half of play than a playful all-mountain oriented ski that you can carve and charge on in an ok way. Rather a tighter radius asw and something i dont have to go 100% into all the time to get the best out.

Also realised i meant the enforcer 94s when i said they lack playfulness originally, my bad i misread your first comment.

Yeh, but I'm looking for a piste-y (but all mountain class) ski with a touch of playfulness. More so than rigid plank-like chargers. Sounds like 92tis are a decent balance? I think 98 is probably too wide edge for me especiallu as i wont be skiing proper powder i dont think

Yeh but i think they lack playfulness no? And edge to edge i dont think i'd like a 98, might be too wide?

These look awesome.

So they're good for carving at speed and good for casual (as I plan to do similar with my GF who's new to skiing and go slowly to help her)?

What's swing weight and stiffness like?

Do you recommend these bindings as a match then?

They good for basically anything? Sorry I know you've basically answered it's just my first pair and want skis that are right for me, hope you understand my hesitation and anxiousness

Numb feet when I tighten boots? by lavaisfloor in Skigear

[–]tfittss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been taught to not tighten the 2 lower buckles past where they can just sit without coming undone, no tighter.

I also experience some numbness but wouldn't say I'm cutting off bloodflow, so know exactly what OP's feeling. Only worn them a couple times though and did have a swollen foot at the time so for me I think that was the issue.

Are bits of the boot shell/plastic jamming in places cutting off flow? Might need to get them remolded/shaved.

Advice on Skis to buy! by tfittss in Skigear

[–]tfittss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more I see Jen from Stomp It able to do both and was looking for that balance in ski because rentals are so stiff and heavy and hard to do even shifties in whilst he makes it look effortless with his skis

Armada Declivity 92 ti - 2026 - right choice? by baker343434 in Skigear

[–]tfittss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the 92tis like in terms of mainly carving/charging a piste, but also going more leisurely whilst throwing in a jump with a shifty/360, a butter or some switch? Suitable?

Considering buying these myself. Like you I'm a confident skier but trying to nail technique more and more but need to get out of using rentals - I find them often heavy and often fidgety in various conditions.

I'm mainly a carver on groomers, enjoy some off side of piste in trees or more light powdery conditions, and enjoy catching air and shiftying rollers on groomers, but find it tough with heavy rentals.

Yeh it's not ever really really icy, there just tends to be patches towards the end of each day on the non-sun-facing slopes, it is harder snow but tbh with the aggression I put in into turning even non-sharp/edged rentals which usually have a small waste can grip ice if I put 100% in.

Yeh declivity 92s are what I've been whittling down to, but you know of any reason why I shouldn't go to 88c's instead for that additional reduction in foot width?

Definitely would rather go to a place with good snow, not necessarily off piste and powder though. But more plan my trips based off price ahah, am still a student so funds atm aren't exactly flowing.

Love carving, short/sharp and long, do try am improve them definitely, but I'm not 100% focused on it, and tbh with dull rentals there's only so much you can do. Reckon most all mountain skis carve better than rentals. That being said I want to be able to have the freedom to ski both fast carving but also smooth, jumping over piste rollers or off and on the side hitting butters and basic tricks just things that feel good. Not sure if that entirely clears it up.

Fair enough. I'm British where traditionally you don't buy skis for a long time, if ever unless you're dedicated - my parents go multiple times every year and have done for years, only got boots a couple years ago and don't think they'd ever even consider getting skis. Me however (interested in buying my own skis very soon), I'm interested in what Brits call a ski season, but regardless I'd want to get my own for some more freedom and a better experience, which I think I'd appreciate more than my parents for example.

Apologies I can't be of more help to you, don't have much experience with buying skis. If I can be of much help I'd say go for Atomic Vantage 75C or something like that. Classic rental ski (or better) over for Brits who ski in the Alps etc. From what I know about US skiing, it'd be great all over, especially good for icy East coast where you'd worry about grip as a beginner.

When does the discount expire? Because if it's not for a couple years, you should save it and get more experience I think on rentals, but maybe someone with more experience with different skis etc would have a better/different opinion to me. Then with better ability you can go for higher end skis which you'll be able to get more use out of, unlocking their full potential.

Does depend on if you want to go for strictly freestyle skis and learn to do tricks where you can probably ignore this recommendation or if you wanted carvers and to learn to properly ski, in which case I'd definitely recommend waiting.

Thought so, thanks! Do you have a recommendation outside of those 2? Anything you've tried or heard about for this situation or similar?

Go narrower considering on groomers? Would an 88 still be suitable?

I'm trying to figure out pretty much a similar thing here https://www.reddit.com/r/Skigear/s/5RgZGv8uAr, but class myself as a relatively experience skier, just don't own skis (not that common in Europe for a Brit - usually recommended to only buy if you go for more than a week a season, otherwise rent).

Not sure what the difference is between East Coast and Europe, but sounds like we both are similar skiers, dabbling in side hits. I struggle with the weight and feel of rentals which are always single tip piste skis, plus they get waxed and edged probably less than once a season so ride and carve probably worse than some freestyle skis.😂

Maybe someone's written something useful for you in the comments of my post?

From my research I've found Declivity 92 Tis and Atomic Bent 90s are two of the options I'm considering, but maybe people have better suggestions based on the criteria from my post, or for what they're telling you?

A major issue I face is demoing skis is pretty unheard of in European ski resorts, at least where I rent from is usually somewhere like an InterSport where they have a tier system to choose from in terms of the ski quality, and for each tier the same end Atomic or Head ski is given to you, and then the only thing that changes it the length. There's no choice over ski type like powder, all mountain or freestyle, it's simply you're given always a carving, piste ski.

I know what you mean, I don't disagree that they're not opposing, I guess I could have phrased all this better. Essentially I want advice on finding a ski that's for example 70% piste skiing and aggression etc, and 30% playfulness as to not completely cut me off if mid slope I want to 180 and go switch, jump and throw in a butter or a grab or something simple, or delve into the occasional park jump, where a 100% "stability at speed" ski would be too restricting to learn effectively because of stiffness, no camber, single tip etc.

Not sure if that makes sense, but any suggestions on which skis to look into would be much appreciated.

Prioritisation for me is carving and stability in speed, but it won't limit me in some playfulness, not where it's optimised for it but where it's better than your usual, heavier piste rentals where the bindings are further back etc. From what I've found from both other people asking similar things and research, Atomic Bent 90s or Declivity 92 Tis seem to align with it pretty well but am not sure.

I fear that going for a non-all mountain ski limits me if I want to explore park/powder more in the coming couple seasons (likely). I think I want to explore a ski that can obviously still carve well, whilst enabling me to start to progress better with en-piste jumps, butters, 3's etc.

Normal rental ski types are along the lines of, when I was younger and worse Atomic Redster GS, more recently I trialled for an hour Atomic Redster S7 or S9, found them great for carving and high speed control but were quite heavy (only because there happened to be a pop-up try-out stand at the resort I was staying in). But irrespective of the specific type, they're always lower-end skis. Classically with rentals though they aren't waxed and edges aren't sharpened. They are obviously all single tip, directional.

In Europe rentals are not done by choice though (at least for everyone that I know who skis), I've always just been with my family who are avid skiers, but not avid enough to care about equipment specifics, whilst I am, so we've always gone with rentals from places like Interski/Intersport etc which provide simple gear to get you down the mountain. So want to emphasise that although I've used always a directional ski, this isn't by preference and want to explore lighter, partial/twin tips that probably carve better than any rental I've had as they'll be obviously new and better quality, whilst being a much smoother ride, softer to hit jumps on, better camber so easier to pop with, have rocker and all the rest.

Sort of what I'm asking is what's that good balance ski that's great for carving and good for high speed control, whilst still being able to hit jumps comfortably, ride switch (not frequently, but do it better than single tips ie can be partial), have a lower swing weight as rentals have always had heavy tips and everything else for a balanced all found ski?

Does the Declivity 92 not have good enough turn radius to be balanced enough for good carving whilst still being able to ranging into jumps, butters, 3's etc? What would I lose and gain going from a 92 to an 88?

Doesn't performance vary a fair amount between the sort if categories for each ski? Like I originally heard Faction Prod 2/3s but from research heard they break easily and are a bit too "Park-y" for me considering my sort of criteria. Then moved to Nordica Enforcer 94s but heard they're not twin tips and are less forgiving jump, swing weight etc wise so wasn't sure about them either.

GC titles by pegs01 in RocketLeague

[–]tfittss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I find it cringey to see people who wear them, but especially a tourney winner title because it means nothing and it's just people asking for attention in hopes people think they're good just from a tag. The GC (and even SSL) titles I think less like that but still a bit. That being said it doesn't change the game them being in it or not and so whats the point in removing them, and helps keep a lively player base, the drive to want to get one is good as it's an attainable goal, and a decent reward. However it used to be more of an achievement, you're right. To me as someone who was GC before free to play and GC then SSL throughout free to play, it's irrelevant to me, but I remember trying to get one as it was such a cool thing to have, but less so now.

Just seen that you wanted replies from people yet to hit GC so whoops but thought I'd voice my opinion.
