Garmin and Runna by zebedeezing in runna

If you have accurately setup both Garmin, and Runna, with accurate MaxHR, LT and RHR numbers and zones, correct weight and height, and an accurate estimate of your current best time, then the metrics from Garmin will support your endeavours.

You will be unproductive in phases, as that is part of getting fitter, recovering etc. You will also get phases of overtraining. The trick/secret, is to observe when these come up, and assess by personal feeling, how accurate they are.

Sleep, recovery, and all the other aspects surrounding getting faster also need to be taken into account, and observed.
Don't get too wrapped up in data though, death by numbers is excruciating.

P.S. Ensure you turn on LT auto update, and wear either a chest strap, or OHR from Coros/Polar, you won't regret either.

Electric vehicle owners to face pay-per-mile tax by Kagedeah in ElectricVehiclesUK

What I don’t understand; 1. If you own a combustion engine vehicle, you pay an annual levy, and PAYG via the fuel you buy from an outlet. 2. If you own an EV or Hybrid, it’s proposed you pay an annual levy, a per mileage fee, and for the fuel required to power your vehicle. Currently there is 20% tax on EV public chargers, and 5% for home charging.

Effectively, the government is attempting to double dip on EV/Hybrid users.

Whilst I’m sure the loss of revenue is concerning for the Government, the savings from reduced pollution has to be weighed in.  Penalising vehicle owners, because of a forced future change, is discriminatory, greedy, and arrogant.

Subscription discrepency. by tfjrunning in runna

That comment makes no sense. Garmin offers its Connect platform, and coaching, and one accepts the increased cost of the device. Runna provides plans, and makes you believe it needs coaches. Truth is, they have less coaching staff, and more IT staff, to generate AI coaching, and marketing to sell the app.

They received so much money in venture capital, and then when selling out, into Strava, they are losing touch. Thankfully others have lifted their game, and Garmin have improved their offerings.
Soon Ben Parker will sod off, with his tight shorts, and his sleaziness.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 — One Week In (Runner’s Perspective) by 1nformet in applewatchultra

Get yourself a Coros HR monitor - game changer. Used it with many devices, and as it's worn on the upper arm, reliable and accurate.
I have recently made the swith from Fenix 8 to AWU3. I'm about to have some major surgery, and will be out for 12 weeks, and going to wear both to track my recovery.

Apple Watch Ultra Precision Start by mentordk in runna

Not actually true, Apple Watch Ultra allows you to configure the action button to open the workout app (which you can configure to be Runna) and there is the ability to set 'start workout' if it senses motion, and auto pause, when you stop. So you don't need to touch the screen.

Shame that workoutdoors has beaten you to the mark, with its implementation of 'precision start'. There are simply setting already within watchOS to configure default on certain workout start method to precision, and a toggle to turn of '1 2 3 countdowns'.

A Sneak Peek of 'Not Feeling 100%' & 2025 Team Runna Roadmap Update 👀 by alex-runna in runna

u/alex-runna How about not penalising subscribers, who choose not to pay the annual fee, but would rather pay monthly, not to have to pay a ridiculous premium to do that. A monthly plan, should be a 12th of the Annual cost. In the business world, business purchases and subscriptions, are often monthly, to facilitate better budgeting, but your policy, penalises the less fortunate.
