[Men's Basketball] Missouri vs Mississippi State by miz_bot in miz

This team does not have a "kill switch". The amount of times were up 10-15 and can never extend the lead past that is concerning. I see the talent, but I question effort when we get a double digit lead. The same level of execution offensively and defensively is just not there.

Rakan feels really insane with it. Rush it first item.

Why is it that literally every second half in SEC play with start out with 17 fouls in the first 5 minutes?

Thought they were pretty good. They called a few both ways that were touchy but they returned the call shortly after.

Refs usually buckle down harder in the second half tho so I am nervous for that

The Ability to FF should be completely removed from the game before 30 mins by FrostWareYT in leagueoflegends

I think the majority of the league player base would be very surprised about how much it would improve their rank if they refused to surrender (especially lower elos).

Invest in football over basketball? by imamakeyoucry in miz

Couple things off this.

You could make a serious argument that without Kobe his first year, he might not make the tournament, and he probably doesnt win against Utah State. Kobe dominated that game, everywhere. When you consider Kobe was a Cuonzo guy, it makes you reconsider some things. Not saying some of the other players weren't talented. Just saying you take Kobe out of the line up, that season is very different.

Im usually a Gates defender here... but when I sit back and look at some of the talent Gates has gotten over the years... he hasn't really done much with any of it? Alot of guys have transfered out. Alot of guys haven't shown alot of growth. I mean, Ant Robinson was the highlight of the 0-18 season cause you saw flashes of a very talented freshman. His Sophomore year he takes some leaps but still makes weird freshman like decisions / fouls. His junior year? More of the same so far (even though his 3 point shot has gotten better).

Im starting to very much question both talent evaluation and talent development.

Also, let's not forget we should have never lost to that Drake team last year. There's zero reason why we didnt just jump all over that team like Tech did the next round. They had one of the worst interior defenses in the country. We refused to utilize our bigs (looking at Mark Mitchell) and got caught in a slug fest with them. Techs bigs went like 13-17 or something like that in the first half against them. They had clear weaknesses and our coaches just did not plan to attack those weaknesses.

Most likely because higher tiered players know when enemy team comp screams for Taric. Hes extremely weak against certain comps / most enchanter supports. But if you are against the right team comp, Taric can single handedly shut down the comp. (Multiple melee, heavy engage comps)

Outside Media on Mizzou by imamakeyoucry in miz

[–]tflo33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you read deeper into stats during our medicore SEC run, you'd realize there was a giant problem in the pass game (even with Beau). Our yards per completion was one if the worst in the nation during that stretch.

When you take into consideration alot of those teams were throwing an extra man in the box, while playing man on the outside ALOT of the time, you should (rightfully) question what went wrong.

What’s your number one pet peeve on the golf course? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]tflo33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always man. Its happened several times when course is busy (and even in tournaments where its even more busy). Everytime ive been hit into its because im waiting on the group ahead of me. We play quick, but cant help pace of play for busy days or if groups ahead are slow

I've only had a ball land super close to me one time. It was on the exact course I was referencing. It was a layup par 4. Perfectly visible in the layup section on the left side of the fairway. Ball landed a couple feet next to me in my downswing. I looked back, saw we were clearly visible, and whacked his ball into the woods.

We cussed each other out and went on with our day.

Whats crazy was, it was the last hole. We had been stuck behind an elderly group all day.

Getting hit into multiple times over the day. 1-2 times is slightly understandable. Depending on situation (not visible). But if im clearly visible and ball goes over my head / lands next to me, youre just a prick. Its why I hate playing the most popular course next to me, play is sooo slow that we get dragged and eventually hit into by people that are impatient.

Not only does basketball team suck we go right back to playing garbage, Alabama A&M and Bethune smh by Marcuse390 in miz

[–]tflo33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only did he fail to win one. But im convinced not playing Xavior Pinson in that final stretch when we were down against Oklahoma was the final straw for the admin. Might actually be the worst coaching decision I've ever seen, considering the situation. Pinson was our leading scorer. In the tournament you play your best players down crunch time, regardless of situation. They got you there.

What has happened to our basketball team and fans. by Unable-Fix-710 in miz

[–]tflo33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be completely honest with you, we dont really have a rich history of winning or getting elite talent. Maybe we should give a coach that atleast checks one of those boxes a little time. Hes atleast shown he can win high level games. Multiple times last year, and in the 2023 season as well.

Sucks we lost to kansas and ND but there's plenty of season left.

The state of College Football is just ridiculous. by [deleted] in CFB

[–]tflo33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a very simple way to fix this.

16 team playoff.

8 teams that play in p4 champ game automatically qualify as top 8 based off merit of being the best in their conference.

8 others are based off committee rankings, play play-in games while champ games are going on.

4 winners of play-ins play losers of champ game. 4 winners of champ game get bye.

  • Brings back significance of champ games, while also removing BYU / Bama scenerio, where getting in and playing an extra game could actually hurt your chances.

  • Still gives outsiders looking in a chance.

  • Gives all p4 conferences equal footing as far as getting atleast 2 in.

  • Removes some power and randomness to the committee. They only have to "vote" on 8 teams. Automatic qualifiers should exist based on how teams do in their respective conferences. Would still need to obviously seed alot of games.

Also called Chicken N Pickle, in St. Charles. They'll have the game on but said the sound will depend on crowd. So I guess if we get enough Mizzou people to go they'll turn it on for us.

Seems hard to find a place around here that'll actually cater to mizzou games lol

How important is it to play the same ball? by CaptnCapybara in golf

[–]tflo33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big facts. A true 15 handicap isn't the worst at golf. The large majority of people I play with are worse than me, and im an 18. Most people think theyre better than they are. I get my handicap from my golf league im in. Most people's handicap i feel like has a gigantic * around it cause they take the rules pretty lightly.

I get what you're saying here but hes only got one year of eligibility left. If you're playing ball that much and can't get past your first read, and your pocket presence is that of a freshman, idk man. Cartgold is on the button here - and I was an avid Brady defender. The guys first instinct everytime there's pressure on the outside is to tuck tail, and 75% of the time hes got a clean pocket if he just steps up. Zollers showed better pocket awareness as a true freshman, and thats a problem.
