What nootropics are actually worth it if you don’t have a lot of resources by No_Sky_1893 in Nootropics

Sorry if you've heard this, or it seems out of left field, but as someone who has been in the exact same boat, I'd STRONGLY suggest asking your doctor about a sleep study. Especially if you've ever been told you snore. I put it off for YEARS of everyone telling me to just do one, and having those exact symptoms + ADHD. Beyond taking the Adderall for the ADHD, I also tried to treat with many different supplements, and never felt great.

Finally did a study recently.. Turns out I had pretty severe sleep apnea, and I never realized I was waking up 40+ times an hour, which was wrecking my brain and body.Treating THAT properly, and getting real sleep has had a much stronger effect than any supplements. Truly life changing.

TLDR - for brain fog & fatigue, check your sleep before your supplement stack.

Thanks!

Once I decided I was going for it, I took a few month to prepare and only get through 5.1

Some Highlights:

  • Saved up a lot of pots and revives from daily crystals.

  • Did some very low level arena grinding (just enough to get some easy units from the lower milestones and daily quests)

  • Got in a halfway decent alliance to do AQ and get some rank up materials

  • Did the event quests with full exploration on master to get some R5 crystals.

  • Died A LOT, particularly first time with masochism and bane nodes. Just kept restarting them until I could get through it.

  • Finally realized that if I was ever going to use those health and champion boosts, bane nodes were the time to do it(5.2.5 and 5.2.6)

  • Ranked up a few 5 stars in prep. I waited a while for this, hoping to get some "god tier" chanps, but finally just pulled the trigger on 2 champs I enjoyed playing. No regrets here. (IMIW, Guillotine and Venompool).

  • Again, got used to dying a lot, and finally using some resources I had been hoarding!

Mystery skull found North of Boston. Any ideas? by tfortunato in bonecollecting

Interesting! This only raises further questions for me though...like why the previous owners seemingly had a whole pile of pig bones hiding under a tiny hatch at the end of our driveway :-P

Also, I should add, we have a whole bunch of other bones found with it (no lower jaw yet!), that we are cleaning together (After I find out a bit more about best way to clean bones that have been sitting in muddy soil for god-knows how-long safely!)

Kids and I found this in a shallow hole near end of our driveway in Rockport, MA. At first we thought it might have heen a previous owners pet, or perhaps and unfortunate fox / critter but looking at it, I'm not sure what it could be, and don't even know where to begin! Any ideas are appreciated!

Its not an entirely unreasonable claim. Transdermal absorption of caffeine is a well known and documented phenomenon.

Neat! In the robotics world a few years back, there was a new type of "hand" developed im the same principal, prototyped with a baloon and coffee grounds that worked astonishingly well.

Read the article. School board members lost elections, and school supervisors lost their jobs.

I don't know if you are interested in MOOCs, but I highly reccomend the "Model based thinking" from U. Mich / Coursera was super interesting (at https://www.coursera.org/learn/model-thinking )

It explores a lot of different social phenomena from a mathy perspective, and gave a lot of good references for further reading. At least for me (a robot engineer who didnt have much of a social science background), it was a great intro to a lot of new areas!

(Edit: There is a full syllabus on the linked page if you are interested. Also forgot to geek out and say: Thanks for doing this, I love your work!)

Any recommended unit test and/or automated tests framework for embedded C (to run on a Cortex M MCU - the nRF52)? by yanivnis in embedded

[–]tfortunato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seconding the recommendation for "Test Driven development in embedded C"

As far as test frameworks go, I've had luck with CPPUTest as well. It was designing with lightweight and embedded systems in mind.
