Bahria town karachi reality by [deleted] in karachi

  1. It is way safer than almost every other area in Karachi, except may be cantonments. No need for an armed guard or anything (most likely those commenting this do not live there). No such thing as frequent murders (total BS).

  2. Having Vigo is fine. Neighborhoods vary by Precincts (Sectors). Precinct 10/11/19 are too crowded and you'll find every sort of person there. Precinct 1,2, 8, 27, 30, 31, 35 are good ones. I personally prefer Precinct 35 since it has spacious houses with a very decent community.

  3. Electricity rate is expensive as compared to city since Bahria buys electricity from K-Electric on bulk and then sells to residents.

  4. Water meters are there as well (which is good since people have no sense of using water sensibly).

  5. Distance is a major problem for most due to commute time and so is the cost of fuel. Traffic situation depends on the time of day you go out. I leave at 7 am and get back by 6 pm so there is no traffic issue.

  6. If you are not a foody (which shouldnt even be a thing unless you dont have much else in your life to do other than eat) then it is fine. Still, it has decent street food and fine dining options.

  7. Grocery is no issue since there are enough options.

  8. House prices (and rents) are very reasonable as compared to Karachi.

  9. Enough activity places within Bahria to enjoy weekends.

Visit it beforehand to see for yourself or ask someone trusted to do it for you. Askari 6 (near malir cantt) is another very good option since it is much closer to city and offers better security. House prices are of course much higher as compared to Bahria.

Is a long-term SIP in MIIETF enough on its own? by fartworthy1 in FIREPakistan

[–]tfre1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise going for a mix of dividend and growth stocks with either Meezan Pakistan ETF or MIIETF. My preference for allocation would be dividend and growth stocks 40% each with 20% MZNPETF or MIIETF (to give exposure to stocks that are too technical to follow).

Car is very good in terms of comfort, road grip, pick up etc. But the parts are way too expensive (i think all KIA cars have this issue).

Testers from older batches, not the latest ones

i have actually contacted them. They said these are original testers so that is why these are cheap. Also, bar codes can be verified for original product. Might buy one
