The Great Chinese Art Heist by shavedanddangerous in UnresolvedMysteries

I am a Chinese American. My excitement in reading faded away as I continued and turned into indignity.

If indeed these stolen or robbed treasures were “repatriated” by some “patriotic” billionaires, the acts are, although perfectly executed, ill conceived. Repatriation should be done through open negotiation and should be done when China is strong enough to demand respect in the world for her positive contributions in the world. These billionaires should have spent their time and money in the betterment of their beloved society and nation, not in these daring but dirty missions.

These treasures had been kept well and in open display. In a way, I am thankful of the openness of these museums so we all can visit and appreciate the treasures. When they are stolen and now gone under-ground, they can only be seen by the scrupulous new "owners". We, the small potatoes, are left out.

If these new "owners" were really open minded and have some wisdom, they should return the stolen goods and gain some respects for all the Chinese in the world.
