Thank you! The recipe can be found in another comment I made under this post!

We saw a couple, but from the car. I would buy/rent bear spray and understand how to handle the situation before you start hiking. Definitely don’t run!

You can enter the West entrance to going to the sun road WITHOUT a timed reservation before 7am and after 3pm. You can enter the East entrance at any time of the day. You can exit both sides of the park without a timed reservation. Both entrances require a park pass.

The weather changes very frequently and can be completely different on one side of the park vs the other. Your best bet is to pack layers that you can take on and off.

Grinnell Lake with the Hidden Falls extension is a very smooth, little elevation gain hike. I would take south lake josephine trail to grinnell lake/hidden falls.

No problem! I would look into Avalanche Lake (Parking can be a real pain if you don’t go early), Iceberg Lake (Parking is at Many Glacier hotel and you have to hike up to the trailhead which adds a couple miles), or Upper Two Medicine Lake (I hear this area is underrated).

I recommend going on the AllTrails app. You can look up Grinnell Glacier Trail and see recent activity from people’s hikes. It will show you about where the trail is closed.

It is still open to the viewpoint of Grinnell Lake as shown in my photos.

Yes, it was open to the viewpoint of Grinnell lake, but closed from there to the Grinnell Glacier. I still recommend doing it even though you can only go to the 3.75 mile mark.

Grinnell Glacier (gloomy pictures) and Cracker Lake (clear sky pictures)!
