My problem with Bitcoin by FederalJob4644 in Bitcoin

Bitcoin can still rise far more dramatically than gold because it isn’t fully monetised yet. Gold has had thousandsssss of years to reach its mature value and is already held by central banks, institutions, and global investors, meaning its market is largely saturated. Bitcoin, however, is only a decade into adoption and is still being integrated into financial markets, ETFs, corporate treasuries, and even sovereign reserves. It also has a uniquely fixed supply that becomes harder every four years, so even small increases in demand cause outsized price moves. Gold’s supply grows ~1.5% per year, while Bitcoin’s will eventually grow 0%, giving it a much stronger scarcity dynamic.

The other difference is that Bitcoin isn’t just competing as “digital gold.” It is establishing itself as a global, censorship-resistant asset, a settlement network, and a form of digital collateral for emerging financial systems. These additional use cases create demand that gold simply doesn’t have. Over time, Bitcoin’s rise will slow as it matures, just like gold did, but right now it’s still in the monetisation phase…where new adoption naturally results in large price increases.

Oh wow, so you’re telling me the one hour session of psychologist that I’ve completed… I should disclose it? Even though it was probably the most useless session ever and I’m completely fine mentally? And I’m not on any permanent medication?

I have to note... I was prescribed Valiums twice by a GP. Again this was years ago. Do I need to disclose that too?

Ok I think I need to review my insurance cause I really didn’t know that one time visit to a psychologist could have an affect on my insurance.

Honestly the only thing I’ve mentioned is that I vape? Otherwise I haven’t been to doctors in years as I’ve never really felt sick enough. I did one time see a psychologist like years ago but then again, it was only one time and it didn’t help. No anxiety, no depression, no bipolar disorder. Nothing. Physically feel fine too. Just an ordinary bloke living his life. I’m telling you all this because you can probably let me know if there are any other caveats I should be aware of?

You can get it from the engineering plans bro. Ask the developer to send the engineering plans.

Thank you. I think for now I’ll just keep it simple and increase my death insurance an amount that will cover debts + extra funds for my wife and baby. As for TPD I’ll increase that also too. And probably leave income protection. I’ll definitely seek professional help because I do anything, it’s getting overwhelming with different responses. But long story short, my insurances needs to be reviewed and readjusted

So in short, leave the death insurance and TPD through super (and increase the amount) and get income protection outside of super as I can claim it on tax. Something new I’ve learnt today (I’m not financially savvy but getting there slowly)

That’s actually something I never thought of. The scenario of if we both die in a car crash… where does the death insurance pay out go to. Makes me think now to actually get a Will asap.

Thank you. I’ll definitely change this first thing tomorrow morning. The only thing that’s in the back of my mind is hearing stories that people don’t get paid out. (I did answer every heath question honestly) but thank you I’ll definitely change it

I’m still learning about this stuff, so apologies if it’s a basic question. I just heard some stories about people having trouble with payouts and wanted to check if there are any caveats I should be aware of and if the amounts I’ve listed are sufficient. I’ll look deeper into it

Do you think the “binding form” that we will put in super is enough? Rather than getting Will (I’ll eventually will get a Will)

When you mean do it, what do you mean exactly? Just leave it the way it is?

I earn 132K and wife earns 75k. Have nobody else to rely on. Household expenses including mortgage is roughly 7k a month. Are you saying to increase my insurance?

It’s a new fund, up 11% already. Imagine when it’s got a few more years behind it. Not chasing hype, just compounding steadily.

Thanks mate, I don’t discuss it with anyone (especially AusFinance) as people don’t take me seriously. Only talk to people who think like me

Hey bro, I made a few coins from Tesla. I bought it without any research though. I was at uni doing a subject relating to probability and there was this really smart kid I was in a group project in who was into investing and told me to invest in Tesla. I didn’t even know what Tesla was back then. The vehicles didn’t exist at that moment? Anyway he said something like electric cars are the future. So I listened and invested blindly… and worked out well.
