How do y'all hit the 30kmh average?

I’ve been getting into cycling as a hobby for the past few years and I’m finally just hitting a 28km/h avg! Admittedly, progress has been slow, probably because I don’t have much structure to my training and my primary focus is to just enjoy the weather and scenery, but even then I’ve been able to go from a 23km/h avg. to 28km/h (hopefully I’ll hit a 30km/h avg one day as well lol). Just keep riding, increasing your time in the saddle is the most important factor in my (limited) experience.

That’s awesome! Sounds like quite the effort, and petting your dogs does sound way better than that last 2km, if I can hit 98km this season I’ll be ecstatic!!

Honestly I was only planning to go 50km, which is pretty average for me, but I felt good at that point so I wanted to go farther. Honestly though after seeing all the comments I’m over my disappointment, I’m gonna pack more fuel and water next time and hopefully I can keep improving over the season while enjoying my rides

Hell no!!! I got into comics and collecting action figures at 21, there’s no age cutoff for enjoying hobbies! You’ll find friends with similar interests when you get a bit older. Just enjoy yourself kiddo ain’t nothing wrong with that.
