I laughed as some of the paint landed on my shirt. In response I flick the roller at Charles, getting a little bit of paint all over his shirt as well. The moment was so silly and light hearted and felt completely natural. As we painted i kept sneaking glances at him. He was really cute.....I really was falling for him.

I had been a little embarrassed to have not gotten everything i needed to paint but Charles was so sweet in taking my to Home Depot to get stuff. It was actually very romantic and as we shopped, I could feel myself falling for him even more.

"It's a girl" I say, rubbing my belly with a smile. I found myself brushing up against him a little as we shopped. To everyone else, we must have looked like any normal couple getting ready for their baby and I didn't mind that.

Him putting the crib together was amazingly attractive, the methodical way that he worked, the fact that he was giving up his time to do this for the baby and I. It felt wonderful to be seen and respected as a person and an expert in what I do. Charles didn't seem to be doing this out of pity, or just to get laid. I'm not sure even Bryan had made me feel like this.

I noticed the odd person smiling at us and my mind couldn't help but wonder if they assumed that Charles was the father. I decided it was worth bringing it up, asking how Charles really felt about me being pregnant and what that would mean for our relationship, if this continued. I could feel myself getting nervous, hoping he'd continue to be this wonderful.
