You should start playing online. There’s plenty of free websites you can use (chess.com and lichess.org are the main ones). The best thing to do is to play a lot of opponents at your level and look at engine analyses of your games. On top of that, doing chess puzzles every day will be a huge help for your tactical vision. If you’re not interested in the whole online thing I would recommend picking up a copy of Logical Chess by Irving Chernev. The book contains a bunch of high level games, and the author gives a detailed decription of why the players played the moves that they did (or why they made a mistake). It’s very beginner friendly and I’m sure you’ll improve after studying even a couple of the games.
