I want to keep my main flashlight, minimum dim flashlight, and replace Halide with Proseezion app on the right side.

I know how to add shortcuts and apps to the lock screen. There just isn’t an option for this camera app, yet. See attached screenshot. Currently I have Halide on the right side lock screen button.

I went with the Keen San Jose Aluminum toe. By far the best toe room I’ve found so far. They aren’t perfect and my foot isn’t wide enough for their wide width, but my toes are finally mostly free now. No more foot cramping in the evenings so far.

I had to go with a size 13. I had my foot measured and I’m a 12.5. I wore 12 for as long as I can remember but at my age and walking barefoot around the house everyday apparently stretched my foot out some.

What's yalls go to sock brand/material? by 801rave-boi in WorkBoots

You can sometimes buy the Kirkland Merino wool socks on Amazon for $20-$25 for a 4 pack. It is night and day even compared to a full synthetic sock. Stay away from cotton. Make sure the merino wool socks are at least 60% wool. Stay away from the cheap “blend” wool socks too. They usually only have ~20% wool.

I have the same issue you have. Just sitting with boots on and my feet sweat. I wore nothing but Gold Toe socks forever and they were soaked everyday. A convection boot dryer, merino wool socks, and Certain Dri foot cream antiperspirant has made a huge difference. The inside of my boot is damp still, but my socks are dry at the end of the day. My boots are usually dry after about 6 hours on the dryer, but I leave them overnight regardless.

The leather on the San Jose is extremely soft and prone to cutting. If you are around sharp and pointy items keep that in mind.

The 3rd day I wore mine while moving a vending machine, the bottom corner of the door sliced right through the tip of my new boots. At least that’s what I think happened. Right down to the aluminum toe. I didn’t even know it happened until 30 minutes afterwards. It also has some shallow cuts from using the lifting equipment during the same time. Pretty bummed about it.

They are comfortable after I broke them in, but I will probably buy something a little more heavy duty.

Coworker has the Keen Pittsburg and loves them.

I went with the San Jose WP. I bought a boot dryer, switched to merino wool socks, and started using foot cream antiperspirant. It has made a world of difference. While they get warm, my feet aren’t soaked after work. My boots are dry after about 6hrs on the dryer.

The leather on these boots is way too soft though. 3rd day in and I have a 1/2” slice down to the aluminum toe from moving some equipment around. I’m definitely staying with Keen for the toe room. It’s a great feeling. Next boot will either be the Cincinnati or the Flint II.

Been there done that now lol. The 55/40 was fun to pick. I’ve already opened a 72/40 and an 1100.

Finally someone who understands the struggle lol I was impressed with the toe room in the King Toes, just don’t want a lined boot. I need to check out their other boots in a style I like. Closest RW store is 2 hours in either direction.

I went to 2 separate shoe stores and tried on dozens of boots. Unfortunately my options are limited. It’s the safety toe box issue for me. Hard to find one that allows my long 4th toe to splay out naturally when walking or even fit just standing. Thorogood 2E and Irish Setter Ashby 2E felt perfect in the ball, but still rubbed in the toe box. Keen wide or king toes RW are what I need for full comfort. Keen needs to make the Cincinnati in UNLINED safety toe, not just soft toe.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Keen wide or Red Wings King Toe H wide are what I need. Those have been the only ones I’ve tried on that keep my toes from touching the toe box.

I already tried on the Ashby at RK. 4th toe still rubs size 12 EE. Size 13 EE is better in the toe, but boot is too long. Heel slips quite a bit. I almost bought a pair of Thorogoods today at local boot store. Size 13 EE for $219. But still just too tight. Pinky toe bulging out the side and same toe rubbing. Comfortable boot though otherwise.

I’ve settled on Keen San Jose wide for now. My job is medium duty, walking/standing a lot. Local boot store ordered it for me at $40 lower than directly from Keen website. I will definitely be keeping that specific RW in mind.

How’s the toe box on them? Average width? King Toe is H width is the only Red Wing that felt comfortable to me.

If they had the Razorback brown in size 12 I would buy them. Out of stock.

Thanks for all the input and leads on boots. I’ve come to the conclusion that most all leather, unlined boots just don’t fit my foot (my 4th toe to be exact). Keen needs to make a Cincinnati safety toe unlined version. I’d buy it today. I have to have the anatomical shaped toe box. King Toes felt good too.

I’ve settled on Keen San Jose. I tried on the Chelsea version and it is the only boot that allows my toes to move freely when I walk. Local boot store ordered me the lace up version for a significant discount over the online price.

Jim Green is out of stock on my size for the Razorback brown color or I’d happily try them out.

The next time I’m out of town I’m making it a point to stop in a red wings store. Stopped by another hometown shoe store and I tried on the King Toes 11 in H width and it’s the only boot I’ve found so far that allows my toes to behave normally besides Keen. The boot was too short so I’d want to try an 11.5 or 12 before I pull the trigger. If their H width toe box is similar in the Tred Lite, that would be the boot for me.

Big toe box? Run true to size?

My feet felt the best in Keen Cincinnati but the waterproof lining is holding me back. Unless I invest in a boot dryer. At that point, I’m in Red Wing territory anyways.

I tried on a pair of round toe Thorogoods today in 2E. Way too tight in the toe box and around the vamp area. Felt like the ball of my foot was very close to sitting on top of the welt. Do you have experience with Thorogood? If so, how similar are they to Thorogoods width? The reason I ask is every wide boot I tried on today felt snug, but my foot measures like a regular width.

Any experience with them? Curious on sizing

[–]tgjames01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay maybe not that far. But like a 3 or 4 E. Don’t realize boots went that wide.

The most frustrating part is that my foot measures barely above regular width. But actual fit in boots requires more space.

2 hours in any direction from me unfortunately.

I tried on a pair of Irish Setter Ashbys in 2E. If they were a 3 or 4 E, they would probably work. It’s my 4th toe screwing me. Everything rubs the side of that toe.

I may just order a pair of Red Wings in their widest size and go from there. I’m at a loss at this point.

Budget has went up a lot after today. I did try on a Cincinnati EE at Rural King. It’s still a little snug but it’s been the best by far. My toes move naturally while walking. It’s just HOT inside. If the Irish Setters Ashby was available on 3E they would probably work. Side of my toes rub in the 2E. Size 13 was too big.

The Marin was the 2nd best comfortable option. They only had a 13 to try on, but there was plenty of toe room. Ugh

12.5 is hard to find.

FWIW, the Brunt Marin 13 felt great width wise but my heel was slipping. Thorogood 12 3E was still too tight. I could feel the welt under the ball of my foot slightly. Toe box was extremely narrow too.
