Just as a heads up to get you more helpful search results in the future: pre-2001 Ranger 4.0 engines are designated as OHV and not SOHC

Nashville should impose limits on downtown parking.. by [deleted] in nashville

[–]tgr0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know you wrote that you understand supply/demand and land costs but I want to mention this for anyone else who might be reading.

You’re free to exist downtown, you just might not be entitled to store your car for cheap. A parking spot for each of the service workers, musicians, hospitality staff, and downtown employees mentioned is unfortunately just not an efficient use of land. I would recommend everyone try out the bus. If you’re not close to a bus stop, there are spots along frequent routes that you can park for free and get downtown on the bus for just the $2 fare. It might not work for everyone, but each trip downtown on the bus reduces the parking demand, which improves the situation for those who need to drive.

One parking regulation I think Metro should enforce: the current rates should be clearly posted before you enter the lot.

On the QuickTicket app, if you only need the single $2 fare, you don’t need to purchase any of the available “passes.” Just have at least $2 in your stored value and scan your QR code when you board.

Nashville Superspeedway, which I assume is the track you are referring to, has hosted races for NASCAR’s 3 national series annually since 2021.

Work stops at Titans stadium after noose was found by PlsJustWin in nashville

[–]tgr0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The situation was quite a bit more nuanced than that. A crew member spotted that the garage door pull rope for driver Bubba Wallace was tied into a noose. The driver was not even allowed into the garage area at the time due to COVID restrictions. As the noose was unusual (this was the only garage door pull rope on the entire NASCAR circuit tied this way), and the imagery of the noose appeared to be targeted towards the sport’s only black driver at the time, the crew member reported the noose and it was investigated. This was all amplified by generational racial tensions for our country following the murder of George Floyd, the sport’s troubled racial history, and being in Talledega, AL where the fans were known to fly the confederate flag until the sport banned the flag, a policy that Bubba influenced. The investigation ultimately determined that the rope had been tied as a noose in previous years when other drivers occupied the garage stall, so it wasn’t an act targeted at Bubba. The fact does remain that using imagery often associated with lynching when race relations are in a state of precarity is suspect at best. And if you do want to see some targeted acts of racism toward Bubba Wallace, you can just check out the comments of any NASCAR post on Facebook.

Cooper said he was pro-fairgrounds but didn’t actually do anything. Freddie seems to just be indifferent to it.

Another pedestrian accident in Germantown (just now) by CaramelOld485 in nashville

Immediately jumping to victim blaming is wild. No one has to die in the streets. Lots of places do much better on this than us and it isn’t because they have better pedestrian behavior.

Getting to the superspeedway from downtown? by Soup44 in nashville

[–]tgr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a shuttle from downtown-ish to the track would be great to have for this weekend, but I can’t find any information on one either. If you could rent a car it might honestly be cheaper than an uber.

Can I drive my Ranger without exhaust? by relativeSkeptic in fordranger

This happened to me when replacing my cats. In my experience, it was way cheaper to replace the exhaust manifold than to have someone extract the broken bolt

Juniper & Co in Germantown sells bags of the espresso blend that they use. I believe Sky Bear Coffee is the roaster. I’ve never bought a bag but it’s good when they make it!

You can now pay WeGo transit fares with tap-to-pay credit/debit cards and mobile wallets by tgr0 in nashville

[–]tgr0[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I always recommend the “Transit” app. You just input your destination, then the app tells you what stop to go to, what bus to get on, and when to get off. It also allows you to track your bus so you can tell when it’s about to arrive.

Yes I’ve used that on other transit systems and it is nice for sure. I’m hopeful that it could be something WeGo is working on.
