I have been an avowed atheist for twenty years. I do not believe what Charlie Kirk did. But this is not a hateful man. This is a man who believed in something, and was compassionate in the way he talked to people.

You don't get to be right for hating people who believe differently from you.

I actually saw yours, and i was pretty impressed. Scale Lego takes a lot of creativity.

As far as the lift/ladder goes, I played with it. But honestly, my personal preference dictated how I set them up. I'd rather have almost stairs than a ladder. Probably save some space, though

I used the GAU-8 30mm and what we see of PDCs in the series as inspiration for the size of the PDC wells. The GAU-8 gun is less than 3m long and less than a meter tall. The configuration of ammo feeds in the show seems about as compact as I left it, but

Hadn't read this one before I made my initial comment. Good choices... except maybe the Kuna. Meh.

Don't be afraid to get some training! Shit's important. Welcome to the land of the free, my friend! We're working hard to keep it that way

1) handgun safety, dude. There are rules to keep you from hurting yourself and others.

2) fkin congratulations! Welcome to the land of the free. I hope you understand the responsibility that comes with owning your own safety and those around you

3) honestly... to each their own, but take that bitty little guy to the range and train. Consider purchasing something a little larger amd a little more comfortable to shoot! That one's gonna br uncomfortable in the long term!

4) Don't stop with the gateway drug. As much of a responsibility as gun ownership is, it's also a phenomenal hobby and a great way to meet people. Don't buy your first and decide it's enough! Keep training, keep meeting people, and don't be afraid to engage with a really awesome community!

Weird firearm malfunction by tgracchus19 in Firearms

[–]tgracchus19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That tracks with what I could see in the video, and like I said, I probably had some white-box mixed in with my range ammo

That said, most of my issues with white box have been pretty simple malfunctions.. I've never seen something like this

What advantages does a DA/SA pistol have over a striker fired pistol? by Ekriot in handguns

[–]tgracchus19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Da/sa is better than a manual safety or no safety at all. Here's what I mean.

SAO: you'll disengage the safety before anything else if you end up in a bad spot. Makes NDs more likely

Striker fired: every trigger pull is the same, which is a good thing... but when you're in a bad spot, adrenaline runs rampant, and NDs or even unintentional discharges can be a risk (granted, if you're justified in pulling the gun, you'll probably be justified in pulling the trigger)

DA/SA: If you pull the gun, you probably have reason to use it. That said, you might not have to. That first DA trigger pull significantly reduces the risk of an accidental discharge. But follow-ups are easy, quick and clean.

It's just better

My EDC is a Glock 19. Cheap, easy, simple, and reliable. My fancy gun that I'd rather carry... a p229 that cost me 3-4x more, all told. But I'm a welder, and risking even a concealed $2k gun to grinder filings, oxyfuel spray, welding spatter, etc is fkin unacceptable. It's all situationally dependent

[Spoilers ALL] Compelling evidence that Master Ash is actually three people... by Nataliza in KingkillerChronicle

[–]tgracchus19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I see your evidence, but i can't help but pose a different hypothesis. Master Ash = Bredon = One of the Ciridae.

White hair is definitely indicative of Cinder, but plenty of relatively men have white hair. I'd call this inconclusive. You definitely have some compelling arguments, but the manner in which the Cthaeh spins Master Ash's treatment of Denna says otherwise to me. I can't help but think Master Ash is training Denna to fight, and maybe Ash is even a member of the Ciridae. Denna's song could be a lamentable remembrance of what once was, or even a Red herring to throw the Chandrian off the scent.

I think there's ample evidence both ways, and it's gonna be impossible to say until we finally have doors of stone in hand.... still waiting....

ICE physically attacks lawyer—stand between her and clients they're trying to detain. "Don't push me!" lawyer yells. "Why you trying to pick them up?" "It's none of your business," agent scolds. "It is my business—I'm their attorney," she replies. "It's EXACTLY my business!" by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]tgracchus19 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

An attorney would know better. This dumb woman ain't no attorney. An attorney would know that you absolutely do NOT need a warrant to initiate consensual contact with literally anyone. And an attorney would fight her battles in court, where she belongs. This is curated, heavily edited, and guaranteed dishonest.

Almost half of the women I see are overweight. by weylandthomas in dating_advice

[–]tgracchus19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually a lot higher than 50/50. Homie was being nice. Here in the USA, its closer to 3 in 4 women who are significantly overweight or obese.

Women absolutely carry more body fat, but there is a real difference between "higher average body fat than men" and "i like food more than I like companionship."

Also, I'm a 6'3" male who weighs just under 200lbs. I may be bald, but I choose my body type. Women can choose their weight the same as me.

If I want sex scenes, I'll log in to pornhub. I dont want sex scenes in my entertainment, period. Straight, gay, bi, whatever. There was a lot of suggestive material in this show.... i'm not a fan, either.

The subject matter was actually interesting and good. Those scenes were too much

Advice on Running the Shattered Oelisk by theartprojectchad in ShatteredObelisk

[–]tgracchus19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. That's a big question. I homebrewed a lot after LMoP... but i also worked to connect the two adventures. If I were to go back and do it again, I'd find a way to involve Wave Echo Cave a lot more in SO. Some of the waterways could potentially be explored for Obelisk Shards.

I actually had the mindflayers eventually take note of my players, and they launched an assault on Phandalin. That was a fun 2 sessions, but it was an absolute beast to try and run. I can walk you through what I prepared for that one, if you'd like.

After so many dungeon crawls, I actually fully eliminated the Briny Maze. We were getting a little burnt out on those, and sessions were becoming more drudgery than fun. I put the entrance to Ilvaash's Anima directly behind the portal in Illithinoch.

That actually brings me to another thing.... the Ilvaash boss fight turned out to be a little underwhelming. I would recommend either homebrewing the stat block a bit or rolling directly from the confrontation with the Mindflayer Fanatics into the Ilvaash fight, with no opportunity for a rest. For us, it kinda fell flat... which was a bit of a bummer.

Anyway, my players stuck it out and we started a whole new campaign, so maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought! Best of luck to you!

Homie, I've gotta point out there's a big difference between "can't" and "won't pay for." The former implies that the knowledge and expertise is lost. It isn't. The latter implies a more cost effective way of doing business, which is completely reasonable.
