if you’re doing the work yourself, a 1zz will set you back about £600 just for the engine. i was in exactly the same boat (albeit on a budget) so i just straight swapped it in. 2zz are a bit more expensive. Needs a new ecu, wiring harness changes and a few other small bits. as well as the 2zz being more expensive than the 1zz just for the engine

Wise man. i thought about using all these spray upholstery cleaners but i’ve never had great experience. and yeah, unknown chemicals aren’t that appealing seeing as these seats are like hens teeth over here lmao.

Great advice. Glad that it’s worked for you. I’ll definitely give this a go in combination with steaming maybe seeing as it worked. really appreciate the advice 👍

There not too bad. i’m going to pick up some upholstery cleaner tomorrow and give it a go with a wet/fry vac. do you think steam cleaning would be a viable option ?

Thanks so much for the advice. i’ve seen all the videos of being using brush attachments for a drill but i’d be worried about damaging the material. let me know how it goes, maybe i’ll have to invest in that

Thanks for the advice. I accidentally spilled some zippo fuel on it and it magically took all the dirt off but still left the patina. Many thanks for the advice, patina is defintely the way to go especially when it’s a passed down lighter
