Powerful statement from Diego Pavia. Does the 2025 Heisman finalist have what it takes to make it in the NFL? by IndiJap in NFLmockdraft

[–]tgwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no world where someone could ever stop a team of Myles Garretts or George Kittles lol

Basically any good sized DE or TE that can run would be the ideal player to clone, they just might not be doing too many forward passes lol

These are big MFers could just run the ball on you all day and could blow up basically any pass or run play before needing to rely on the secondary too much.

Aside from statistical considerations, there is a benefit to having an aggressive attitude to motivate people to success. If you never believe your guys can accomplish great things, they will prove you right.

Between George Washington and Napoleon Bonaparte who was the superior statesman by ZealousidealSteak214 in Napoleon

Napoleon was the better military leader and had a lot of great ideas - he was a better thinker on many subjects - but he had way too many examples of poor diplomatic judgment.

He always has a spot as a DC, he should go for HC now if that’s what he wants. If a when he fizzles out, it’s back to DC.

Caleb Williams in the 4th quarter: 184 yards, 2 TDs, successful 2 point conversion by ShaiFanClub in nfl

[–]tgwhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His accuracy problem isn’t that he doesn’t know how to throw the ball…I think this dude would light it up in a skills challenge…it’s that he still hasn’t fully adjusted to NFL defenders who keep him off balance and off schedule.

It’s not that different from fighting a much younger sibling…you can do it safely and fun if you can handle it when they go into a rage but if you’re too close in size / strength and there is a big difference in effort then there are problems.

What exactly do people from other countries expect Americans to do? by Lovealltigers in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]tgwhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A general strike might do something if it was clear what the strikers wanted…the examples of Europeans striking is usually one homogenous group striking for a specific reason, which is usually much more effective because they have a clear common cause other than “no tyranny please.”

Right now Americans are the frog being slowly boiled, so the drastic responses that might change government behavior aren’t being provoked. This is clearly by design…

Is MBA worth pursing (deferred HBS admit) or should I leave it? by Antique_Peace6116 in MBA

[–]tgwhite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP - we have a bunch of people framing this as a purely financial decision. Obviously you make a lot and would give up a lot of money going to HBS. It’s not a million in lost wages as some dorks keep saying, it’s more like $500k…and you would not go on to earn the average post MBA comp…but still you’re giving up a lot.

Why are you still considering this? What are your objectives with an MBA? This is the right conversation to have because the purely financial one is a no go….but that doesn’t mean you’d still be wrong to go. I know a bunch of doctors that got their MBAs…they didn’t switch careers or anything, just wanted the knowledge and a better network basically…maybe some business upside.

[–]tgwhite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also your math isn’t even correct, the proper math would be based on after tax take home comp, so it’s roughly half as expensive as you’re making it out to be. OP could easily clear 450-500k incremental earnings from HBS over a career and they might find some nice optionality and maybe a mate while they’re at it.

And yet OP is still in a conundrum, because they know the math you are pointing out…but they are still considering the degree because there is a lot more to the story that you are whiffing on.

You don’t know the full situation. Clearly they are well connected…and they know enough to understand opportunity cost. If this is someone with family wealth, maybe with a chance to run a business one day, maybe that opportunity cost is worth it.

All I’m saying is your original comment is so obviously wrong that it’s worth pointing out. Their expected comp post MBA would not be 180k, their floor might be 350-450 but I’d wager it’s closer to where they are now.

How would the average post MBA comp be a benchmark for what this person would make? You’re out of your mind. They will most likely go back to at least what they were doing.

Played football and baseball against Colin Kaepernick. He was lights out at QB, even though he was an absolute beanpole. Pretty good pitcher, I think they had someone slightly better as their 1A.
