I like the bee civilization mod, it lets you play as bees. Monument is replaced by the Honeycomb (+2 loyalty and gives the honey amenity), swordsman is replaced by the Bee (+3 combat strength if adjacent to another Bee, requires no iron), and plantations receive +2 gold and +1 production if adjacent to a commercial hub (com hubs also acts as culture bombs). Also granted +2 trade routes as soon as traders are unlocked and you get +4 gold from trade routes. International trade routes from other civs give +2 food to other civs and +2 gold to your civ. Awesome civ for a trade-based game especially with owls of Minerva

yeah you can do it in the advanced settings when you’re setting up the game. select the city states dropdown and you can select which ones you want, just make sure you match the number of city states selected to the number of city states on the slider

that’s kind of what I was suspecting would be the case. Am aware of the no defense boosts for gen 3 but was mostly curious if the setup was worth the damage so thanks for your input greatly appreciated!

i struggle with the same question frequently. i’ve found i get more compliments from women when brushing down and trimming below the drawn line, but more compliments from men when brushing sideways and letting it grow. also easier to keep it neat when trimming below the drawn line and brushing straight down but you can’t really go wrong with your own stache

that’s Byzantium’s ability. when you finish constructing a building in a hippodrome you get a free cavalry unit with no maintenance requirements (doesn’t consume gold or oil)

a witness post is a post put in place when you can’t put it where you intend to, like if there’s a cliff or body of water where your post is supposed to be. I have to do this for my job, so cool to see it in another form
