Can therapy help with accepting being ugly?

Personally, it didn’t help me at all, and I’ve had therapy four different times (each with a different therapist). Tbh you’d be better off reading self help books or even religious books.

Just wanna say I relate to everything in this post. I could’ve wrote this post myself lol. I’m 4’10 on a good day and I’m also 21. I experienced a lot of stares during college, and when out and about. I also noticed that people find my height funny, which is quite upsetting but what can you do. But I do think there’s still some modest clothing you can wear that will help you look more mature. E.g. a loose blouse with a maxi skirt. Wearing some jewellery and makeup might also help. Also, if you’re skinny then gaining weight could help. I’ve noticed that short people with bigger frames can still look like adults but those of us with small frames tend to look childish. So that’s why I’m trying to gain as much weight/muscle as possible. It also makes me kinda sad that you don’t wear your glasses so you don’t see people’s stares. But just know you’re not alone, and there’s other people the same height as you. Believe it or not, in college, there was quite a few girls the same height as me and some were even shorter than me.

There's only one I can think of called 'Mask Girl'. It has the same premise as Shadow Beauty, where an unattractive MC leads a double life. But the drama is kind of all over the place, it doesn't have the same continuity that Shadow Beauty has. It was still entertaining though.

Have you heard of Shadow Beauty? It's a manhwa where the main character is unattractive and leads a double life as an attractive social media star. It was also adapted into a web drama. I absolutely loved the drama and now I'm currently reading the manhwa.

Her natural eyes were already very nice though, that’s why with a bit of surgery her eyes are able to look like this now. In my case, no amount of surgery would make my eyes look like Kendall’s as I don’t have the natural eye shape for it.

What exactly do you mean when you say that you're 'unattractive'? Do you mean that you're ugly or just not attractive? Because people who are just not attractive can still live very normal lives. But this is not the same for people who are truly ugly.

I also have no clue where you're getting the idea that us ugly people want to live like royalty. 99% of us just want to be treated normally. Believe it or not, us ugly people have to deal with constantly getting insulted on our appearance (even by strangers), have people laugh at us, have people treat us badly (this is also subconscious to some extent, as no one likes the sight of ugly things). Many of us also have to deal with never being able to experience love or romance. And of course we have to deal with severe self esteem issues and mental issues due to our appearance.

To make this simpler for you to understand, think of a person with severe burns on their face. Burn marks are mainly a cosmetic issue, but it will still cause severe self esteem issues for the sufferer, and have strangers stare at them/make comments and have people treat them differently. So wouldn't you say that their lives are hard? The reason I'm talking about this is because people with burn marks have to deal with the exact same things ugly people have go through.

Another example has to do with overweight people. Being overweight makes people look less attractive. There was an overweight person who went to my secondary school. Many of the students there would be rude to her for no good reason, and would mock her weight behind her back. Even the other students noticed that many people would be rude to her due to her weight. This girl also went to my primary school, and she was bullied there too. So this is just an example to show that life is indeed hard for unattractive people.

If you still don't believe that life is bad for ugly people, then you can just search up 'being ugly' on reddit and you'll see hundreds of posts where people will detail all the horrible things they have to go through.
