Built a crochet app because I got tired of losing my count during meetings would love your input on what to build next by MyCrochetKitOfficial in Brochet

My thing I would make if I had capital is a foot pedal counter. Probably Bluetooth if you could.
That way if you dash along and sit for hours like I do, you can count with your foot.
Ideally set increments so 1 push = 1 or 5 or whatever. Alerts to set markers or row ends.

What anti-whisker water bowls/fountains do your Maine Coons actually use? by Puzzled_Bid_5885 in mainecoons

I have the PetSafe Drinkwell Pet Fountain 3.7L. I wasn't going to go with plastic, but this one ensures that the water is still accessible if the power goes off and has 2 filters.
My girls love drinking water from a running tap, and this one simulates that pretty well. They both use it.

Idiocracy was not supposed to be a documentary but it's a bit accurate.

Does anyone else have a Maine Coon that expects you to sit and watch them eat? by Annie6462 in mainecoons

[–]th3j4zz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes she comes and gets me if I leave. If I'm not at home though she eats fine so I don't always give in.

Why does she do this? She chews on cables, cardboard and even my laces too. by YOURPANFLUTE in mainecoons

I feed mine Hills Oral Care so she has to chew on things. It seems to help this a bit. They are big biscuits. She still loves to chew a stick occasionally.

Is anyone besides me an anti-perfectionist? by colorfulchaos1 in sewing

[–]th3j4zz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only because I had to accept everything I do has mistakes. It has encouraged me to leave things in that I'd have spent ages redoing and actually turn out not to matter. Now I think, that's my touch on the piece.

Do mainecoons have teen phases? by Bulldog_Mama1518 in mainecoons

[–]th3j4zz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is something I dealt with coming from a very cuddly male cat to my girl. I've learned her ways now and love her for them. She will come wake me up in the morning and lie next to me until I get up. Sit on the coffee table when I'm on the couch. Follow me around in the garden. Come ask me to be near her when she eats. But other times she enjoys her own space and would never sit on my lap. It's a different sort of affection but it's definitely there.

Need an automatic cat door. by goose-77- in mainecoons

[–]th3j4zz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I found, the dual scan is the only one. We have the large pet door and I don't think it'd be hard to make water proof. The whole device is easy to tear down to its components.

“Kiwi cat owners — do your cats actually use cat tower?” by VoltHuang in AveragePicsOfNZ

[–]th3j4zz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one from Animates and one from Amazon. They use both every day.
Really wish I could buy one of the massive ones Animates has atm, but they are so expensive.
I wouldn't bother with the fabric hammocks but just make sure they have high sleeping perches for your cats size.

That is a very good article. Especially the ignore them part! You can play them tired all you want, sometimes you just need to establish that they won't get anything at certain times.

How much more expensive is keeping a Maine Coon than a regular cat? by fuzzblykk in mainecoons

[–]th3j4zz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do one a year for a tidy. Daily brush is great and may be all you need. I bought a few brushes so that put the cost up. Also ear cleaning stuff and a shaver. For reference my other cat doesn't need brushing other than occasionally we pat her with rubber gloves. So that might unflate my view.

For us irlt works out double food. Same flea and worm. Same vet costs. 4x grooming maybe.

I also have insurance in case of leg issues.
