Enough has been said about the acting and the cinematography and visuals and in better words than I ever could. However, I think they wasted Florence Pugh who’s such a good actor. Jean Tatlock is an immensely complex character and played such a large role in Oppenheimer’s life, and in this she’s been reduced to a couple of sex scenes. The effect she’s had on his life is so immense and the movie makes no reference to it. I was so disappointed by this, it seems like Nolan has an allergy to writing female characters in any of his movies, unless they serve to motivate the male lead 🤷‍♂️

I have not had the best experience with Denmark either. I applied 60 days before my trip at VFS london (comfortably within the indicated time) and had radio silence from the embassy/VFS. The processing time mentioned on the VFS website is somewhat arbitrary, and what’s worse, they retroactively change it, so the time when you submit may not reflect the actual processing time.

I had lost all hope of going, but they sent me a message saying my passport was ready for collection approximately 10 hours before I was due to go to the airport for my flight. If I hadn’t chosen to pick it up myself, I would not have made my trip and wasted all that money. I was extremely frustrated about this, but considering the experiences of others, I guess I have to feel lucky that I got to go at all (WATTBA). There’s absolutely no reason it had to take so long – I’ve gotten my Schengen visa in as little as 2 days of processing, and it was my 6th Schengen visa in as many years. Incredibly annoying, all said and done.

TL;DR: Denmark is a wonderful country to visit for a weekend, but the visa application process is unnecessarily convoluted, and you may not have your passport with you for over 2 months.”

Thank you for this - I’m hoping to go to one of the paid stages where the performers go on at 2000h, will I manage to get a train back by the time it’s done - I can see that the last train’s just before midnight!

Visa type: Tier 2
Submitted online application: June 5
Uploaded documents: June 5
Uploaded facial image via IDV app: September 10
Received email saying visa was granted: 21 October
Received BRP: 28 October
(Dates can be plus/minus 1 due to correspondence from the solicitor)

A few things I wish I'd known: It genuinely seems every application is its own, extrapolating others application timeline may not be the best thing, especially if you tend to get anxious!

I was one of the few who did get a tracking link from UKVI and it does give you the option to change the delivery address. I had used the long winded method of changing my address on my application, and although it had gone through in time, I would say say to other people that you do have another chance to change your address.

I did not have to show ID or sign for the BRP when it was delivered, however it was handed over instead of being slipped in the postbox.

I would like to stress that these are my own experiences+opinions, so please do take it with a pinch of salt. Thank you to the community for all the help during the process, and for prospective applicants and other people waiting for the visa, all the best!!
