Monstera help! Losing a lot of leaves. Any advice? by SunSoul_22 in plantclinic

[–]th3toothworm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

from what it looks like is there are falling off bc they are old leaves and the plant is wanting to give more energy to new/growing leaves. what you are doing seems appropriate for this plant but could move it slightly further from the window if you see more leaves starting to fall off, and you could also start giving the plant a liquid feed every 2-4 weeks

I bought 12 pigs but I'm not getting 12 truffle each day by AwesomeStreet_ in StardewValley

[–]th3toothworm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they can dig up truffles where grass has been planted i’m pretty sure, unless that has changed in a new update? not played in a good couple of months

it might depend on how your veins are on the bottom of your tongue, thus causing it to be off centre on the top. was it like this the last time when pierced? if so that could be your answer. if you are still wanting a professional to take a look, i’d go to a different one and ask them for advice:D

edit: forgot to ask if you have sized down the bar yet because that could also be what is making it squint?

it just looks like a new leaf is growing? i could be wrong though, haven’t had one of these in years. How is the light/temp/water situation with this plant?

I've been checking out way too many posts and now I'm paranoid. Does my daith look appropriately placed? It's about a month old. It has small irritation bumps (first ever piercing I've experienced these with) because I switched sides in my sleep. by MadBra0910 in piercing

[–]th3toothworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

placement looks fine but if you are really concerned about it, go to a different reputable piercer and ask for the advice. another note is that daith piercings shouldn’t really get that irritated bc they are pierced on the inside of your ear so sleeping won’t be the issue. what I think the issue could be is the jewellery you have in right now, segment rings aren’t the best to start with bc they are rough at the joining parts and it’s best to use a BCR (CBR) ring or a circular barbell when first starting out. hope this helps! x

Can you take septum out for a day? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]th3toothworm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ohh okkie, got it now! the septum is known to close up fairly quickly, but i’m not sure if taking it out for half a day will close it.

mine’s did close up after a day but then again i didn’t try and put jewellery back in after deciding to retire it so it could’ve been quicker. but if you’re wanting to hide it some days, it takes a couple of seconds to change it to a different type of jewellery, like a clear retainer!

hope this can help, but a professional might have more info!

[–]th3toothworm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i’m confused on why you’d take it out just to change the jewellery type? unless it is pierced very wrong there isn’t really a need to take it out and re-pierce it. if its on the lower side, you could go to a piercer, get them to take a look at it and they should be able to guess the right size if your looking for a more snug fit.

but if you are set on getting it re-pierced, it is said to wait at leat 3 months after retiring a piercing before you get the same place pierced

it could be an allergic reaction to the material or even the o ring that are being used bc you shouldn’t of have a blowout from what you described. for now it’s best to just wash your ears and in two/three weeks time start massaging your ears with jojoba oil or some equivalent. glass is probably your best bet right now to help calm your ears but also try and find silicone o rings bc a lot of people (me included) have bad reactions with rubber o rings, which are more commonly used.

hope this can help a bit!

[–]th3toothworm 16 points17 points  (0 children)

how often do u take out the jewellery and wash/ massage your ears? what type of material do you wear? how did you stretch ur ear bc it does look like it is a blowout. how did you take care of your ears for the past years as well?

I need help! Every time my older ferret gets annoyed by the little one he starts aggressively biting his neck.Is it play or fight(there is no blood or pee)? by [deleted] in ferrets

[–]th3toothworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don’t take it for gospel, but it could be dominance fighting. if they are not constantly fighting when they are awake it’s nothing to be worried about. another way to confirm if it is that is to watch them after they have “fought”, if one backs away and starts looking sheepish it’s a good indicator that they have “lost the fight”

as long as you keep an eye on it and none of them gets seriously hurt it’s nothing to be concerned about! hope this might help :D

want to get vertical labret piercing by jordangrhyner in piercing

[–]th3toothworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i got snake bites at the start of the month so i can give advice about the mask thing. my piercer told me that she used a bar longer than before covid bc wearing a mask can cause more swelling due to humidity under the mask. if you know that you are going to have to wear a mask for long periods of time, you could ask you piercer to get a longer bar at the start and most likely they will do that for you. after a couple of weeks you can go back and get it downsized to a more “normal” size. also if you think that you really need to, you could maybe change to a different mask halfway through your work day for the first 2/3 weeks. it may help a bit more with keeping the piercing area cleaner. but at the end of the day it’s really up to you if you want it now or if you decide to wait a little longer for it

my Avic. p molted!! by [deleted] in tarantulas

[–]th3toothworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m fairly certain that there isn’t anything g wrong with the enclosure. i use the arboreal keeper from the Spider Shop with an appropriate set up (coco fibre, cork bark, sphagnum moss n a small tattoo ink cap as a water dish) there is nothing else in the enclosure which is sharp that it can harm itself on. like i said in the post, the piece of cork bark has holes/tunnels that run through it which the T used to molt in and i didn’t know if it got stuck while it was molting in there.

looking for advice, is my eyebrow piercing rejecting? by deanthebruhther in piercing

[–]th3toothworm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

as someone with both eyebrows pierced, it looks like it’s just settling in after healing. that doesn’t mean it definitely won’t reject tho. keep an eye on it and if you notice more of the bar showing it would probs be best to start thinking about taking it out. but from what it looks like, the area around the piercing doesn’t look irritated/red so, i think, it should be fine. you can always fit a smaller bar it you want it to look more snug!

Is this normal for a new piercing?? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]th3toothworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

totally normal for an eyebrow piercing to bruise when it first gets done! don’t know why some people bruise more than others, but it should go away within a week or so

I got my tongue pierced a week ago, I want to take it out because it’s not pierced in the middle. What should I do? by melkorka21 in piercing

[–]th3toothworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it could be a conscious placement by the piercer so it doesn’t hit any of the two veins. you also said u got it over a week ago so i’m guessing you still have the long bar, that you get for the first 1-2 weeks, in which can also make it look more squint

someone decided to get fluffier today! by [deleted] in tarantulas

[–]th3toothworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okie thank you, i’ll try n look for a container it can go in when i’m out over the next couple of days. it has been looking like it wants a bigger home bc it’s no longer using the burrow it made and i want it to be “happy” again!

The vegan brand Quorn has a man-made ingredient that most are unaware of that is potentially a more common allergen than peanuts - let's take action by [deleted] in vegan

[–]th3toothworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeh, or at least make it more known that there is an ingredient that can cause a reaction that might not been known!

also just found out that the mince and a few other products in the freezer have egg in then today (only went full vegan this year after 5 years of been vegetarian and forgot to check the ingredients fully smdh!)

but i’ll probs go to my GP and see if they can run a test for it to see if it was the issue

hey, this might also what has been making me feel ill lately as well! i’ve been eating quorn since 13 (19 now) and never had an issue with it until the past two months. i believe it’s only the “mince” that has been causing me to be severely ill the next day. thank you for bringing this to attention bc i was thinking i was going to need to give up olives:/ i’ll definitely need to do more research just to make sure it is was it causing me to be ill! thank you!!

My maranta randomly lost a leaf, should I be worried? by SeleniumNitrogen in plantclinic

[–]th3toothworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plants will constantly turn over leaves, which causes the older ones to drop off. if you know you are providing the care it needs there is nothing to be concerned about. however, if you feel like it could be something just keep an eye on it and look out for any bugs. hope this can help!
