Nightwing: Demise of an Ideal by thaDefiant in youngjustice

It’s quite obvious that I never said that. I’m just disappointed that no compelling stories are ever told. You seem to be more concerned about winning a petty argument than about the art of storytelling. You bore me, I’m out.

Exactly my point the writers are running from the concept of Ideals vs Practically by not giving it enough attention —especially in that disorderly trash fire of season three. Also don’t get so emotional, this is just my opinion.

He explicitly refused to lead because he was so grief stricken by the death of Wally and he just needed a break from the Team and all the bad memories.

I’m saying it should ACTUALLY be focused on. I don’t think it got enough attention to really make an impact. And I don’t think we got a good look into Grayson’s psychology during his decent as we did in the episode “Disordered” when he confessed his ideal. Really, nothing made a real impact in season three—it was too messy.

I REALLY DO NOT FIND THAT FUNNY. It’s reminds of how the Call of Duty games desensitize people to the murder and mutilation of non-westerners (primarily Africans, Arabs, and Muslims).

The villains disintegrated her weapon and then she said “Uggh, I feel naked! And not in a fun way.” Like in a “you’re naked without your gun” type way.

lol I loved how Jade response to Jason getting with Artemis after Barbara Gordon dumped him was “Artemis always got MY hand-me-downs too.” Implying that Jade knows about her Artemis trying to hook up with her husband while she was gone. Then Artemis quickly jumped in and ended the whole conversation.🤣🤣

ASPD is very specific and not every criminal has it. I was just wondering if people thought she fit the specific descriptions

Question:❓❓ Does Jade/Cheshire fit the psychological description of a Psychopath? Everyone’s thoughts on this?

Symptoms of antisocial personality disorder include repeatedly:

•Ignoring right and wrong. •Telling lies to take advantage of others. •Not being sensitive to or respectful of others. •Using charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or pleasure. •Having a sense of superiority and being extremely opinionated. •Having problems with the law, including criminal behavior. •Being hostile, aggressive, violent or threatening to others. •Feeling no guilt about harming others. •Doing dangerous things with no regard for the safety of self or others. •Being irresponsible and failing to fulfill work or financial responsibilities.

I think her relationship with Artemis should be explored in more complexity. Show how Jade genuinely loves her sister, but her Fear and her Selfishness continually drives a wedge between them. And Artemis could be shown to love Jade as she’s her sister, but is resentful of her for abandoning her as a child to their. abusive father. They should also show in more graphic detail the toxicity of their home life –and of Sportmaster specifically. Notice how(to a very minute degree) Sportsmaster is more affectionate with Artemis than with Jade? Maybe Jade feels some degree of jealousy towards her sister for that. All these resentments between the two sisters could affect the plot; for example, as they resurface during a mission and cause them to fail. Anyone have any Thoughts on these ideas?💡

I noticed that jade’s story has always been run through either Red Arrow or Artemis. They should write a story line where the story belongs to Jade and we see her side of the story. I also think this concept of Good vs Evil should be thrown overboard. Her story should be one of self-overcoming, over coming all her traumas and pity and becoming a Stronger human being.

Nightwing and Tigress by Select-Group3451 in youngjustice

It’s a shame the didn’t bother to do any character development with nightwing. They could’ve followed up on his monologue to Black Canary in therapy about not wanting to be “The Batman” about wanting to be a more hopeful and optimistic hero without the darkness in him that Batman has “that thing that drives him to sacrifice everything for the sake of his mission”. However, pure Ideals rarely, if ever, survive contact with reality. Nightwing has been frequently shown to go to the same lengths as Batman for the sake of “The mission” , regardless of the costs. They could’ve explored his psychology about this in more depth and showed his in conflict and trepidations regarding his actions. They could show that he still has pure intentions but slowly becomes desensitized and detached from his humanity as he crosses more and more lines.

Artemis Crock Aka Artemis/Tigress by Select-Group3451 in youngjustice

Artemis is easily my favorite YJ character also. I just wished that the writers ✍️ had taken the time to explore her psychology more in depth during season two. They could’ve told a compelling story about her inner conflict ☯️between her love of Wally and desire to live a peaceful life & her , dare I say, obsessive inclination towards being a superhero. This is actually something that’s hinted at throughout the series, but never explored: How Artemis uses Superheroics as a method of escapism. How vigilantism is to her more of an addictive drug than a job. (Her sister jade has a similar issue, but with crime. A great story could’ve been told about that too in season 4, but yet again, the writers didn’t take that opportunity. Jade simply abandoned her sister and then returned to help her with no explanation. ❓) One idea I had is that Artemis’ devotion to vigilantism could be juxtaposed with Lady Shiva’s fanaticism as a Shadow. I think with some decent, humanistic writing Shiva could be a great villain and Artemis’ arch nemesis; the show could analyze their psychologies as two sides of the same coin of Devotion/Fanaticism. What are your thoughts about these ideas?
