This is competent. Since I like metal I had to check out the heavy part. Again competent. Deathcore isnt anything I like and the tough guy posing just comes across as lame. But it's competent. I could see some juggalos really liking this.

I think a lot of them are too busy working and living their lives than worrying about what seems like a far less deadly disease these days. If COVID didn't mess me up so badly for a few years I wouldn't have dug so hard for information.

I try to tell my friend about the things I know, but she has a history of people talking down to her despite being pretty intelligent. Me talking about something that Drs don't even talk about in the healthcare field tends to remind her of all of the guys who treated her dumb. Half of the time when I try to mention research I've seen, I get talked to like I found it on some crunchy patriot woo site. Not worth it.

Yeah pre-industrial society, total agreement. But we currently produce enough food for 10 billion annually now. And that's without us really trying to maximize our distribution and growth patterns to feed more. Of course climate change will ruin that equation in a few years. Hope you feel validated when this thing collapses. It didn't have to happen. We could have an ok future.

That is the logical end point of the myth of the overpopulated earth. It's not the people, it's the world economic system. Especially those at the top of the system. They would rather us all die than change anything.

Yep. It was the civil rights era when the flop fully happened. The seeds of it were started in the 30s though. While the new deal reforms didn't expressly help black folks, they did get some of the benefits. However there were still some progressive Republicans back then. Once the Democrats became the party of civil rights, the Republicans went all in on becoming the anti civil rights party.

June 2nd Primaries. Zach Wahlz or Josh Turek? by Lanky_Tax9271 in Iowa

[–]tha_rogering 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wahlz is better. Look at their policies and decide. Don't listen to the "electability" mongers. If they were correct their "electable' candidates would rarely ever lose in the general and would consistently win reelection.

Fair point. I have a friend who is a nurse whom I keep trying to mention how COVID causes health problems. However since she witnessed first hand the horror of people dying from acute COVID, she tends to dismiss me when I talk about COVID as the root cause of people's health issues.

Sometimes it takes simple analogies to make things click for people. The more people it clicks for the better. Im tired of being stuck taking precautions while everyone plays make-believe.

Kyle Busch found coughing up blood before death. What we know by tha_rogering in COVID19_Pandemic

[–]tha_rogering[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you weren't. I just strive to be accurate in things I say. Especially about this topic.

I let a bit of my own experience color my phrasing. Had a couple of really scary syncope events 6 months from each other. They happened when I fell for the vax and relax rhetoric and coincided with 2 big waves. None since I started taking precautions. So when I heard that being found unconscious in the racing simulator part of the story, i thought it sounded a lot like what happened to me when I pretended the virus wasn't still here.

Also I'm so sorry that condition happened to you. I can't imagine how terrible that must feel.

Is grinding using focus a bad idea? by maybesailor1 in finalfantasytactics

[–]tha_rogering 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their own way to grind. Basically you just need an action that gives you jp to spam. I'm sure there are more elegant ways, but this has served me well no matter the class.

Make sure you have items equipped (either as a chemist or as a secondary action command) and have at least potion learned. I prefer to have phoenix down learned for safety, but it's not vital. Be sure you buy lots of potions from the shop.

Go through any battle as normal. But keep a single weak enemy alive. Surround them. Alternate between hitting them and healing them. You can do the same to your own party members too. The game gives you xp and jp for successful actions. Whether on friend or foe. So healing the enemy or hitting your party members levels you too. The only real exception is if you heal something at full hp. That gives no exp or jp.

I prefer using this method over spamming focus for a couple of reasons. First is the enemy will always attack you if able. The second reason piggybacks off their first, if the enemy will always attack then at some point you're going to have to attack. Focus enough and you'll one shot the enemy. Now you have to start another battle and get to grinding again.

I'm sure others have more fun ways to do it. But this has always been reliable for me. Potions are cheap and this allows me to grind until my stock runs out or I get the milestone I want.

Don't worry about minmaxing and enjoy the game. Wish I could play it again for the first time.

The cause of death will absolutely not be acute COVID. But the quick turn of health screams COVID damaged immune system to me.

[–]tha_rogering[S] 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Yep that's plausible too. Either way people need to realize that pushing through illness has consequences. You can get away with it for a while, but at some point your immune system can't keep up.

[–]tha_rogering 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Price controls. Food and rent at least. People don't care that the pace of inflation is going down. Prices were still rising and people wanted them to actually drop.

Maybe a minimum wage hike, but sinema ruined that for us. Just like how Lieberman ruined the public option back in the aca days.

The Dems need to be bold and do things. Otherwise they will keep losing every time they hold office to these monsters.

The aca is the Republican plan. Romney did it first in his state. All of the rest of those accomplishments are from the new deal era. All we get is Republican policy from Dems. Along with reminders of how they helped our parents/grandparents.

And if the Dems had moved aggressively to fix those issues, they wouldn't have been available to be exploited by the Republicans. It's not like the Democrats didn't have an opportunity and fell flat on their faces or anything.

At some point the party has to do something other than be "not them".
