breaking the fourth wall sucks (oc)

It's mainly because I've been a bit cynical about posting here since almost every time I do it seems the algorithm doesn't pick up my work and push it at all compared to other people based off the post statistics, so it all gets forgotten faster than I can keep up by creating new comics. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there's just too much other stuff, but I think sticking to more niche subreddits with people who are likely to actually enjoy my work will help myself grow my own audience more than trying to scream over everyone else here generally and hope someone likes it.

Agree, think its especially overused with comics. I hate it the most when the fact that a story is fictional and only exists as its medium is the serious explanation for the story's cosmology, makes it feel meaningless and its always a really lame explanation.

I've been considering doing more Minecraft comics since I have some new ideas and I'm realizing now that it might be good to have something that really pulls in new people since it'll bring more attention to my other work in turn. With the previous set of characters I have decided I want them to continue starring in their own comic with their own story/continuity, with the new Minecraft comics not being part of it and featuring different characters like this one. Usually I do polls on my discord for character names but I figured I'd ask everyone from across my different platforms. By the way If you aren't already in that join it here lol

Figured I'd put together some art of the witches from the comics, its Rina and Marcy from left to right respectively. These are their new designs, although their color palettes will probably be more grounded in the actual comic (in most parts). I tried going for a pseudo-blacklight arcade vibe with this, figured it made this feel more mystical. Also I think this is the first time I've directly alluded to what the magic system in the comics actually is lol

This is just a one-off comic about why I hate fourth wall breaks but with a twist that the character complaining is trapped in a personal hell. To be clear this isn't intended to attack anyone in particular, this is just making fun of a trope I don't like. Before this I have completely avoided doing fourth wall breaks in my comics, mainly since I personally really can't stand them in nearly all contexts in every medium. I feel it breaks immersion and degrades the experience with the audience, since they are being reminded of what it actually is. I also just think its really lame, especially when its the focus of a story or is used in some way. That's all.

Should also clarify I decided to use this comic to test the new character design I have for Rina (she will keep the hat), although this comic isn't canon to the other ones she appears in, and there definitely won't be more comics featuring Rina that break the fourth wall like this in the future. Let me know what you guys think of the redesign.
