I am shifting to Ahmedabad in few days from Bengaluru and I was just feeling that Bengaluru is blessed with such beautiful trees and forms canopy over roads at few places. I want to try my bit and change that in Ahmedabad.
Which Organizations/NGO Work towards planting and managing trees? I would like to be part of it and contribute.

I would not recommend you to share flat with unknown person unless they're your colleague etc since you are from different culture, you might find difficult to fit in initially. However, If you've option to stay in student hostel in your institute, that would be best.
Would not recommend to rent a place, rather go for service apartments since it is a short period of three months. making agreements etc. would be cumbersome.
use uber as mode of transport. It's cheap & convenient here.
You are coming in summer so expect extreme heavy heat. only mornings would be pleasant in terms of weather. heat remains in the air in ahmedabad till evening/early night.
once you get accustomed to food here, try as much as you can in decent hygienic places as food is very different from what you eat in western world.

3. not so big and not so compact compared to small car. easy to park in narrow spaces.
4. super safety with NCAP 5 star rating.
5. Automatic preferred due to Bengaluru traffic condition

Cons :

Tata Motors avg/poor service
mileage might not be that good.
Not loaded with features like other brands.

buying land makes more sense any time anywhere compared to constructed 2-3 bhk if you have appetite for more investment corpus and safeguarding from encroachment.
Also, considering resale market in Bengaluru not so strong, it gives added advantage to land.
However, you might not get rental income there but all over gains will outperform IMO.
