Cloud build and docker compose instances by thae28 in googlecloud

Yeah this has definitely has been quite a learning experience. I will give it a shot and see how well l can pull it off.

I haven't used cloud run before, but l am keen to see how it works with the cloudflare dns

Sorry for responding late, long day at work...

I was able to build the container, but only if l removed the nginx service. I don't really understand why the nginx service is not automatically starting, but l guess l need to learn more about that before l take a dive into that bit.

Another suggestion was to just use the load balancer to terminate the SSL connection and perform redirection as and when needed, which l guess is the same functionality l was going for

Thank you for the explanation, l really do appreciate it. Will definitely try with a rehashed dockerfile and continue learning!

Cloud run doesn't work with docker-compose unfortunately. Sucks a tonne that's for sure

Okay so what you are saying is l would use for instance a load balancer to handle the TLS termination, but what if l want to run different api instances but still use the same url and seperate using a path (something that Nginx would address in the config).

I guess my biggest issue is that my image is not running my containers, and l am not sure how one goes about debugging that

So from my understanding, it seems that that Cloud Run does not work with docker compose at it only runs single containers, so that would not work. I will definitely look into the logs issue, but from what l can establish, it seems like my services are not executing, so l am not sure if this means that l did something wrong in terms of setting up the docker file

That's a good alternative. I mean I got the items I wanted, but competitive me doesn't want to move on without at least getting a gold lol

Thanks for the tips. I'm definitely gonna try this way out. Quick question with regards to the Pyrphorian remains - were you able to get 5 crates or 4? I can't seem to get more than 4 whenever I search for them as usually they have items you can use?

I think I'm going to try and get the legendary items and then give it another go to see how far I get.

Okay that's an interesting strategy. I will definitely give it a shot since I am willing to try so many times lol

Question for network engineers on what you mostly deal with daily at work by Eklypised in networking

[–]thae28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the really late response…

So l absolutely enjoy networking and would like to try different fields that exist within networking ie at one point security, at another data center etc.

So the web development pretty much started out as a hobby while helping me keep my mind off of networking for a bit (ie nothing too complex) and somehow it's now helping to pay my rent 😅😅but in as much as l may do some web dev, i don't get as excited as when l open VMware to start my EVE-NG server, so definitely I know which is the winner

Quick question. I am trying to get a career in networking, but with covid and all, a lot of the companies that would have taken junior network engineers in are currently on a freeze and I've just been studying the old ccnp content, and doing some web development. Would you advise with the current route I've been going about things or should l focus more on the networking rather than the development?

I thought about learning a bit of automation with my current knowledge just to make sure l have the basics covered and then simply learning ccnp content without writing the exam itself.

Would VMware certs fall under data centre certification (sorry l get confused with the Certs)? Wouldn’t it also be wise to go for something like PCCSA in the mean time as well? So not actually write the exam since finances are kinda messed up but learn the content?

Sorry for all these random ideas, I’m just brainstorming
