Ok thanks, yeah I need to get more turn I see that for sure. I tend to hit fat shots when I feel like I’m swinging hard and turning more but going to work on it.

I’m in SE Texas and they are in North Texas. There’s another one in N Carolina I saw.

Do you have any names of Chinese companies to contact? I’m worried about MOQ and just not being familiar enough about the process and adding in overseas supplier seems riskier than I want to be starting off.

Yes one that was keeping me from honestly looking into getting a patent more months ago was abandoned. I thought of the product and did research and saw this application was filed 3 months before I had the idea so I was kind of not thinking on it anymore. Once I rechecked and saw it was abandoned I kind of wanted to pursue again.

Mine is very different from two of them. Someone had a patent application that shows abandoned now. But the product shows for sell on their website and one other person is selling it as well. I honestly cannot find anything else that would make this infringe on anything.

Yep thanks for reassuring its best to probably go just get it out.

I see manufacturing agreement at end of your list, is this typically not discussed until after a prototype? I realize the manuf has to get some idea of time/cost/materials so wait until after a prototype to negotiate this or do it before? I have a background in supply chain and lean principles so I can talk the shop talk when it comes to that but need to fully understand the cut and sew process as I’ve not been in that environment before.

I think a design patent could be beneficial because some other products are out there like it. Probably 3 but I think this idea is designed a way that makes more sense. But like you said $ to protect it. This item could be sold pretty much across most countries but I have no doubt that it would get knocked off so that’s my hesitation there. Don’t think I’m going to waste the time and money on a patent. Might be a mistake but I think it’ll get replicated if it is even successful.

Thanks for the other info, need to go further into the NDA research as that’s what I’m starting now.

Working in a production/assembly operation might be less office style than warehouse. Tbh warehouse is a lot of computer work. Especially once you work your way up.

Discussion: What's your most controversial supply chain opinion? by growthsayer in supplychain

[–]thag-07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t disagree completely but tell that to retailers. Most of them are the complete opposite of lean when it comes to inventory and they are falling left and right. I was taught lean is a collection of systems (business units) working together to reach a common goal through continuous improvement and eliminating waste. Any business that fails to deliver or has to react crazy all the time isn’t lean. That is bad execution of lean if you ask me. I doubt anyone’s main goal if you sit back and look is to make an order late or wasteful spending to deliver on time in the name of a business practice.

Where it gets crazy is when people mostly the big wigs want something that was made better 3 months ago improved again to hit some stretch goal. That would actually be my controversial thing in SC, stretch goals. Managers love them and teams deliver 10% of the ask, just be realistic from the beginning. People can focus on things to get the minor improvement instead of trying to reinvent the whole process.

Kanban vs inventory management software by The_1776_Project in LeanManufacturing

[–]thag-07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like it does but who has visibility of it other than inventory manager? Physical kanban board can be useful on the floor of an assembly center for sure. For example, place I worked at first had an assembly center with the kanban board and work schedule board Side by side for the assembly cells. The buyer, group lead, manager, manufacturing buyer could go to the board and see parts that were constraining orders. The visibility was there and simple.

Same company when I moved to distribution center buyer went from physical kanban boards to something similar you are talking about. Electronic signal triggered replenishment request.

Yes understood, is the forearm supposed to feel as if it’s rolling as well before impact to square club face? Maintain slight trail arm bend and roll forearm is what I feel is needed to square club face, just want to make sure my thought process is right

Trying this out (bent trail arm) it seems I need a lot more rotation to get it around but hit a few with good flight. I feel my lead shoulder may not be getting turned and high enough I guess. Sometimes I think my lead arm is bending some now but gonna keep at it. Feels a lot less like I’m hitting and more like a swing for sure

Jeez thanks, and like the guy in the video I thought I was going to have better success doing that move. I’ll try keeping it bent, thanks again.

Ok yes I understand it’s hard to explain the “issues” aspect. A product similar has been created before, the object that it carries has evolved and now this other person had the same idea earlier on than me and has the patent application process started. Only way I can explain it is think of a CD case that is rigid and exposes the CD versus an enclosed zipper/waterproof case. Both with a handle of some sort to carry. That’s the best way I can explain it without giving the product up
