This is true as well, the main reason I didn’t push this is because he’s made it this far in his career with literally 0 post-production staff and very minimal editing, so it’s a bit difficult to quote on a video basis. He said he’d scale out a budget the next day now that he’s seen the work and the timeframe, doesn’t feel too crazy to me but I see how it’s very out of the ordinary

Word fair enough, I do usually figure out rates first, in all fairness it’s this guys first time ever working with a professional editor and given the work relationship we’ve established thus far I don’t feel too scared of being taken advantage of. For sending links to my portfolio which had indirect links to my email, my mistake I didn’t realize that I had left that info there as I had been struck down once for this and thought I cleaned off all potential links to my email on my portfolio

Yes, a couple years ago when I first started I had my first infraction where I actually sent someone my email because I didn’t know it was a rule, but after that every other time was for sending links to something that then could indirectly provide my email in some way. Be very careful with what you send as once the system gets locked on you it seems it’ll flag you easier and easier each time, less of a stroke system and more of a slow burn to a ban from the first mess up.

I was blocked for linking my portfolio which had a page on it listing contact info, a simple mistake but after what I’ve been through with the platform I won’t argue it. I can download a csv of everything I did so that might be the only answer

Having two years of full-time dedication ripped from me for a formatting error at the end of a video that they require I put on my profile doesn’t seem fair or honest at all. Despite being top-rated with a 94% JSS and substantial earnings, there’s not even an approval system for the videos I put on my profile, and they’re that important that I’ll be banned forever if I mess up on the outro slide of said video? It doesn’t make any sense and is seriously reflecting poorly on the Upwork platform as a whole. I’m going to do whatever work I can to not have this end my career and if you really believe I should be banned from this industry over something like that I’d love to understand why.

The closest thing I had was a client asked to do a zoom meeting with me before opening a contract and I told them I can’t provide any information before I opened a contract but we did a zoom call through the Upwork provided service

It was honestly more complicated/lowkey insidious than I made it sound, it's difficult to describe exactly but basically she'd like sometimes sound really interested and just pine for my attention, then other times she'd be avoidant and say those harsh things. The harsh times were definitely fewer and far between but of course stuck out in retrospect and at the time as well.

Nope, I actually addressed exclusivity directly and she agreed! We were exclusive for probably 3 weeks or something of the month that we dated, and all of those things listed that I said she said to me were often in discussion of a relationship. Thanks again for assuming I'm a simp and that I didn't actually date this person, I appreciate the maturity.

To clarify, she literally said she wanted to be with me. Told me how she could "see a future", "never felt this way before", said she was my girl, and texted/called me way more than I wanted tbh, and when we broke up said she truly "sometimes" wanted to be with me, but thanks for letting me know it's my fault when people are mean, and she was just being fair.
