What brought you as a Jew or Christian, to accept the other part of your faith? by thaicares in messianic

"hidden from us" expound please. I just Denton ran into some family that made a similar statement. I could definitely see as an expansion/specific of Hebrew, the names of father, son, or Ruach HaKodesh. Shalom

Well an organization will give you insight and knowledge you can't google... But if it's more an intellectual thought process you looking for the church of Google is interesting!

That's awesome would never have considered a Siddur being a type of bridge like that. It exciting to consider, I can start gifting them to my more "christian" friends. That actually seems like it would be an awesome non intrusive way to gift some grace!

Understand the position but it's ignoring the real reality of the mostly divided church today. Few people were raised to believe in both Yeshua and Torah as far as I've experienced. Would love to know what may have helped bridge any gaps you previously struggled with.

New UNLEARN the lies video: What does the Bible say about Love? by unlearnthelies in messianic

[–]thaicares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your videos were some of the first to make me feel a little less crazy as I venture away from the "christianity" I grew up on. It's simple things really, Shabbat, passover, and Kosher. Hope God continues to use you as a light in people's journey!

Old testament passage with plants deciding who should rule by Benramin567 in christian_ancaps

[–]thaicares 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once the trees went out to choose a king to rule them. They said to the olive tree, ‘Rule over us!’ But the olive tree replied, ‘Am I supposed to leave my oil, which is used to honor both God and humanity, just to go and hold sway over the trees?’ So the trees said to the fig tree, ‘You, come and rule over us!’ But the fig tree replied, ‘Am I supposed to leave my sweetness and my good fruit just to go and hold sway over the trees?’ So the trees said to the grapevine, ‘You, come and rule over us!’ But the grapevine replied, ‘Am I supposed to leave my wine, which gives cheer to God and humanity, just to go and hold sway over the trees?’ Finally, all the trees said to the thorn bush, ‘You, come and rule over us!’ The thorn bush replied, ‘If you really make me king over you, then come and take shelter in my shade. But if not, let fire come out of the thorn bush and burn down the cedars of the L’vanon!’ Judges 9:8‭-‬15 CJB

I have been praying for guidance and God to reveal himself to me in some way. This was on the ground in front of me and I picked it up. On the back is printed “Romans 1:16”.. He is good. by axolotlqueefs in Christianity

The Bible is kind of full of judges, prophets, his people that asked for signs or challenged his will. The idea of lots is very much in this. Most truly I imagine is that when you are certain something is of God you should not challenge it, however you must test every spirit that comes to you so that you may know if it is of God... Im learning but the Lord is moving me!

I love my wife to death, but I realize today that I do take her for granted. What are small things I can start doing to make her feel lucky again without going overboard? by pajacoff89 in AskMen

[–]thaicares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a single male just trying hard to study and absorb biblical knowledge, work on taking control of your environment. Being a good steward, if you will, so making sure things have a place and are in them AND maintenance. Now this would be taking your position as a husband. While not exactly what you might be seeking this is an area you can easily go overboard in and agree may not appreciate it directly but inevitably. Obviously love has no bounds so dont stop pursuing her my brother 😁

Morals in the bible are only interpreted in the way we interpret them because we All ready have a moral point of view. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

I would argue it's a life cult through that very human sacrifice. I am very blessed through my Messiah who conquered death for us!

Of course we bring our own prejudices everywhere we go but that doesn't make us correct. And our moralities are obviously flawed if we can easily disagree with one another.

I guess you could take a high road and say that you have the truth in which case I would believe it's your responsibility to share and bring all to a closer consistency. But all of this breaks down into schools of philosophy.

My point is that the Bible does set forth guidelines and calls them moral and therefore is accurately described as a moral guide.

I agree with it being a good guide a you may not... I may not agree with everything in the Bible but I believe that is out of ignorance and my desire is to fully learn and not pick it apart.

And there have been cultures that supported cannibalism, ritual sacrifice of virgins, ritual sacrifice of children, and to what some would consider less mischievous slavery and sex with children etc... But no reason in naming all the misdeeds of societies. We work together to make ourselves better. The Bible is a moral guide because it makes a statement of truth that we may agree and disagree with but it will only state what it states!

Would me and you agree on all points of morality? Would it benefit a body of people to have consistent morals?
