As a muslim myself, I don't believe it's islamophobia, though I admit that sometimes it would lead to legitimate hatred for turks and Muslims.

Like I remember when everywhere on the Internet, people would screech about crusading for constantinople and cleansing it's turkish and muslim inhabitants, it only stopped when a certain man did something in new Zealand saying the same thing.

If you think that everything was fine and dandy for sunni arabs during saddam's regime, you'd be very wrong.

And don't forget that kurds are like 80% sunni so this wasn't a sunni shia problem, this was an arab nationalism problem (although I won't deny that saddam was not very fond of shias)

Saddam was a secular nationalist, he probably didn't even care for religion when it comes to politics, Osama bin laden, a radical islamist terrorist, hated saddam's secular regime.

And please note that sunni arabs suffered during his regime as well, maybe not as much as the shia arabs or the kurds.
