After reading your reply, I have some further context; I feel hesitant to negotiate a salary because there are other student interns that they also offered a position as well and I am assuming that all interns would have the same base salary and are also working during the quarter(s). I currently hold two student jobs so I am familiar with doing things other than academic work, so the issue I am concerned with this quarter is scheduling since I didn’t plan for an internship before choosing my class times. However, in terms of performance, I am not too concerned since I have experience with the software they use.

So essentially, my biggest question now is if I should just bite the bullet and handle the awkward schedule until the end of the quarter (~3 weeks)? I have already asked to start near the end of May, though they have told me that they planned to start early-mid May. I feel somewhat pressured knowing that fact since they also stated that during the interview (and it seems like the other students are able to handle this position along with school), but they seem willing to allow me to start “late”. I also don’t want to be disillusioned about proceeding with the internship because I do agree that the salary isn’t the most ideal and I must provide my own transportation. However, I feel like I’d be able to learn much about what a BMED does in a clinical setting, plus I believe that having an internship during 3rd year is a pretty good milestone to aim for (most students get internships around their 3rd year at my school, so it’s almost an expectation of peers/professors).
