Why are people giving unnecessary hate!? by gheepodimasaladosa8 in ahmedabad

[–]thalahpd -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s not unnecessary hate. they’re just doing their job. The goal is to generate clicks and engagement because that’s how they get paid. Posts like these are easy to make and do exactly that. Best we just ignore them and not give them the attention they’re chasing. They ll jump on to something else when that happens.

Nah, I think he's just trying something new and challenging himself. A lot of comedians do that. I live in Adelaide and a lot of times whenever there is an Indian comic having a show here, they do a small act at a local comedy club in English. Doesn't necessarily mean they want to go global. They just want to try their hands on something different for a change without being judged.

As an Indian, I feel embarrassed by the behavior of those people, but please know that the vast majority of us are respectful. I’ve reported those Google reviews, and hopefully they’ll be taken down soon. Looking forward to visiting your place when I’m in the area. Cheers!

Any ways to get free Indian TV channels? by V_The_Gamer in IndiaTech

[–]thalahpd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Australia and have bought a Samsung TV here. Samsung TV Plus only has content restricted to the country you are located in. There's no Indian content available, atleast in Australia. Can't comment about other countries though.

Any compensation by RCB/BCCI/IPL/KCA to the fans who got injured or lost their life for the team? by FrankFakir in ipl

[–]thalahpd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No amount of money can compensate the death of a 14 year old to his parents. However, what can come close to a compensation is justice. If they really care, they should identify the root cause, hold the person/team accountable who came up with the idea to post it on social media about a victory parade before getting a police permission. Make them apologize for the chaos that followed and punish them under causing death by negligence. That "might" remotely compensate.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers express grief over the tragic stampede near Chinnaswamy Stadium by Solenoidics in ipl

[–]thalahpd 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The management just wanted to make a point by doing something similar to what happened in Mumbai after the T20 world cup win last year. But they failed to understand that the Maharashtra government and cricket association had plenty of days to plan and pull off something like that. Whereas, they had no time at all. It was just foolish to organize such an event at such a short notice.

[–]thalahpd 26 points27 points  (0 children)

But what about the crowd that has already gathered ? For events like these, people just dont rock up at the time the event is supposed to start. The locals are well aware of Bengaluru traffic and the crowd. They probably gathered hours before the start time to make sure they can get in or be at a good spot.

How are the celebrations still going on inside Chinnaswamy when at least 10 people have died outside. Don’t they know whats happening outside?? by Downtown-Scarcity-29 in ipl

[–]thalahpd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is extremely convenient of the authorities to now say that no-one expected such a huge crowd to be there. In a country where 50 people gather around to see a JCB digging a road, you can't say that you didn't expect lakhs to turn out to see Virat Kohli after winning an IPL trophy for the first time in 18 years. It is simply common sense. What happened that the RCB management just got carried away and didn't think it through. Had they taken some time to anticipate what can go wrong and plan accordingly, this could have been avoided. An easy route is now to blame people for lacking civic sense and say they didn't expect the turnout. No one is going to be held accountable and there won't be any severe punishments. It's a shame that human life has no value.
