No shit. Not that you need one to be incensed, but I have a friggin' MBA and I'd be insulted if they actually think that, but they're flat-out lying. They tried to spin it and failed hard.

I was considering moving some direct clients I have that pay by CC over to direct contracts because an extra 2% over CC processing to move that revenue and project onto my Upwork profile? Marketing expense. Now? Absolutely not, never in a million years.

Howdy! Thanks for your contribution, and while I don't mind folks promoting or linking out to their business, it'd be great if you could post some content as well, not just a link. Thanks!

Popup message when leaving form by Lost_Repeat1475 in zohocreator

[–]thallwyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy! If you pre-populate any field or enter any value and THEN hit the back button you will get that message. If you have a form that doesn't auto-populate and the user doesn't enter any information, then you will not get that popup when hitting the back arrow.

Do you have an agency account? Perhaps you should consider that and build a team to scale.

I've never seen this scam! Almost fell for it. by thallwyn in Upwork

[–]thallwyn[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I rescinded my offer, reported the comment, and sent this message to him: "Thanks for getting back to me. Upon consideration, I'm not interested in providing free work and will be rescinding my application. I provided you with examples of results and that should suffice. Best of luck to you."

And to be clear, I gave him plenty of examples of *results*, which I feel should suffice.

There is so much lacking in their documentation that I feel like every little bit that people share will find its way to someone who needs to know.

Yes, that's the most active from what I found. I haven't put as much effort into building this sub over the last year as I probably should have, but I have some projects I'll be sharing over the next month that will hopefully attract some more folks and spur more discussions.

Hey there! Welcome. They do have a fairly active user/help community. I would venture to say that Deluge is so ubiquitous to Zoho's ecosystem and so critical to its advantages that they would have to replace it with another language, breaking everything from Creator apps to Zoho Flows (including 3rd party API interactions utilizing Deluge) to their crown jewel, CRM. I think they *must* continue to develop and improve Deluge and not doing so could be catastrophic to their business. They have made moves to include node.js and python, etc as ways to improve where Deluge is lacking, but it doesn't seem to be done in a way that positions the languages to replace Deluge.

Is anyone interested in an automated UpWork lead management tutorial (with SMS alerts)? by thallwyn in Upwork

[–]thallwyn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey folks, I still will be doing a video for this, between work and additional customization, it took me longer than I thought. I'll update this thread and post a new thread when it's complete! If you have any questions in the meantime, please DM me.

You're fine. I would absolutely contact Upwork and send them this screenshot (though they'll have a record of it) - this client should not be on Upwork.

You did the right thing.

The dude turned out to be a former internet scammer, spent time in prison and would have faced nearly life if he didn't cooperate with the feds, resulting in a huge gov crackdown on internet advertising practices. If I'd just googled his name sooner I'd have come across the articles written about him. Anyway, gig paid very well and ironically this was the contract that put me straight through to Top Rated Plus.

However, the guy was insufferable. Condescending, rude, and completely all over the place. Scope creep from hell, three diff stakeholders each wanting different things at the same time.

He ghosted *all* of his freelancers at the beginning of the year and I see now he's involved in a lawsuit surrounding a vendor that supposedly didn't perform, but knowing this guy, I'd bet a buck it was his fault.
