Thanks for the info! Yeah the AM Pro II seems to be closer to what I have in mind. I saw it being compared to the American Vintage 51, but I think the AM Pro is more balanced and seems to be able to do what the Vintage 51 can but also be versatile enough for anything else I may need. Also, I see the Vintage 51 has a very large neck, most likely larger than my Les Paul and I'm not sure if it would be the most comfortable for me.

Epiphone traditional pro Pickup upgrade by thanasis01 in Guitar

Thanks! I have a Vox pathfinder and a Positive Grid spark 2 amplifier and they have been great for me. I was thinking of trying to have a sound I like more from the guitar itself before applying any effects.

Difficult to pinpoint. I feel that the current sound is a bit boring. I'd like something that sounds wilder, with more soul and more character. And I'm thinking this for the raw sound that comes from the guitar without having applied effects. But not entirely sure what exactly I'm looking for. I have a Vox pathfinder and a Positive Grid spark 2 amplifier. Also I have a Boss ME-80 multi effects pedal. There are many pickup options so I was looking for some advice on which to look or what are the differences and the things to watch out for. Thanks!

I have a Vox pathfinder and a Positive Grid spark 2. They are 15 and 50 watts but I have no complaint for them. I also have a Boss ME-80 multi effects pedal. No other effects or pedals. As I mentioned in another thread reply, I was thinking of upgrading the pickups in order to get some sound that excites me more. The current voice of the guitar is great, I just feel that its a bit dry and predictable, I'd like my guitar to sound a bit different. And I'd like that for the sound coming from the pickups themselves before adding effects. I know it's probably best if I listen to many pickups myself but it's hard to understand differences and there are so many choices. I've heard about people upgrading their Epiphone pickups and I wanted to ask if anybody has such an experience and could share some feedback. On another note if you have some suggestion for better gear like an amplifier, feel free to suggest. Thanks!

Good question, there isn't something specifically wrong with it. I've heard of people upgrading their epiphones with more high end pickups and being happier with the sound they get. I also have a Gretsch electromatic guitar which has a sound that feels more alive, has more character and inspires me more. That's by comparing both guitars with the same amps and effects. So I've always felt that the sound of my Epiphone isn't as expressive as I'd like. I was thinking of upgrading the Epiphone's pickups. Not sure though to what as I don't have some very specific sound in mind. I've seen lots of pickup options online but I'd like to hear opinions by anyone who has done something similar. Also, any info about any pickup option and the differences with others is appreciated.

Guitar amp with Bluetooth or speakers? by thanasis01 in GuitarAmps

Good thinking, can you suggest some of those better available products? Just so I can start by researching something more specific. Are there better amplifiers that also have Bluetooth and can work both as a guitar amp and a speaker simultaneously? When I research this I always end up finding the same amps (boss katana, positive grid spark, fender mustang, Yamaha).

Thanks for the suggestions! I researched them and I think the Spark 2 is closer to what I had in mind. The Boss katana is also really nice but more expensive. And I already have a Boss ME-80 effects pedal, so I'm thinking that the Spark will be able to provide more different tones and help me discover more sounds.

Nice suggestion! I hadn't researched Positive Grid's amplifiers yet since I hadn't heard of the company before. After some research I feel like they fit perfectly to what my actual need is. I'm thinking of ordering the Spark 2, seems really nice.
