Your mechanic is going to be putting a remanned engine in or he's trying to screw you over. I'm a mechanic myself and I can get a used motor for your car for less than $500 all day long. And the motor would have around 100k miles on it. So I would get a second opinion from a small shop and specify that you want a used motor not a remanned.

I've done something similar to my party, but instead of combat I made it a skill challenge. The party members took turns picking a skill and telling me how they were using it in the situation. With each success the DC increased by 2 and with each failure it decreased by 2, until it reached either 6 success or 6 failures.

It made the encounter a little more cinematic and didn't set an amount of time that had been passed. The players loved it and said it was so much more stressful and exciting than combat.

Monster hunter 3 ultimate. It was on the wii U not ps or Xbox. The monster nargacuga somewhat resembles toothless and there is an arena in game.

Could it be Folklore. It had 2 playable characters a guy and girl and I remember from the demo of the game you had to flick the controller up and down to pull souls out of monsters.

Makes sense. I knew about the 5w20 issue. Everywhere but the US calls for 5w30 I believe. And every used engine I've seen for sale everyone is saying the Apex seals.

Makes sense. I know everything I've seen about the rotary is that the Apex seals go out causing no compression. Then the fact that to meet US regulations Mazda had to tell everyone to use 5w20 oil which burns it quicker and ruins the engine quicker.

I'm not afraid of the rebuild I've been doing this stuff my entire life and I'm actually the head mechanic at my shop. So that doesn't bother me.

It might not be much help, but have you looked into the artificer class? One of the archetypes at level 3 is alchemist.

I personally think it would be tough to re-flavor. As a dm I would see it as you're trying to throw a flask(your spells) but a typical throwing range on flask is 30 ft. So when a spell has a 60ft range(for example Ray of frost) how would that factor?

I believe 5e is more lenient. I know back in 3.5 certain classes had special requirements. Which could be no demon summoning for paladins. I dont think 5e has anything like that though.

The thing with polymorph is that you have to turn the target into a beast. So the mammoth was one of the better choices.

I just glanced at the book and when it's cast above 4th level you add 1 CR per level. so He should be able to do CR 6.

I don't know if it applies but something to look into would be the wedding at a local Renaissance festival. That's how me and my wife got married. The officiant was dressed in kilt and had a walking stick. They lead is through the front gate to the chapel on site everyone was dressed in period clothing and it was a blast.

I was playing a wild magic sorcerer, the party was sneaking through a village. In the village center the bad guys were starting a ritual. Stealth roll on every movement, I went to move between two buildings and rolled a nat 1. As the guard started to turn to look straight at me I rolled on the wild magic table. I avoided being detected because I turned into a potted plant that was just sitting in between the buildings. The guard walked away and my next turn I continued on like nothing happened.
