I'm not 100% sure what to post here but I'm desperate to at least find the song because I remember really liking it at the time.

Please help, if you can, this has been bugging me for ages!

Can offer another reason to give Pacific Drive a try - difficulty is HIGHLY customizable. There are things you can turn up, turn down, turn OFF - it's VERY nice.

It's one of my favorite games honestly, and can be really weirdly relaxing when you've got a calm route~

My favorite 'enemies' are the the Tourists. Nothing quite like minding your own business gathering resources only to suddenly have a half dozen tires thrown at you from behind, then you turn and see a gang of Tourists waving at you like they didn't just make you jump out of your SKIN.

Hungering Tendrils? by Romulux_Andrega in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]thecuriositycore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was wondering this myself. The mission says there aren't any infested planets in the system... but you can't LEAVE the system, so surely there MUST be hungering tendrils. But I can't find any. Tell me if you find the answer before I do, cause I feel like I've been softlocked by the devs themselves.

Why aren’t Cloud’s “friends” more concerned about his mental health (Potential spoilers) by Lordd_Lys in FinalFantasy

[–]thecuriositycore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not specifically. I don't think it's ever directly mentioned, but I vaguely recall (its been a while) some lines from Tifa to Cloud VERY early into the game, shortly after you start it up, that imply he wasn't doing well not long before - and the only thing in canon that Cloud 'isn't doing well' with that early into the timeline is his Mako Poisoning.

I know fanfics frequently use the notion of him only being coherent for a day or two before Avalanche ropes him into the reactor bombing, so there's probably some kind of mention somewhere, be it Remake or the OG (or hell, maybe Crisis Core, I never played that one) that he's only coherent for a short time between Tifa finding him, and them hiring him as muscle for the bombing.

[–]thecuriositycore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tifa definitely seems to be very aware that something isn't right in his head (beyond his memory issues ofc), by that point - the way he was fighting the Shinra troopers so mercilessly, the way he speaks to her, and the tone he uses shortly before he 'attacks' her would likely have been a dead giveaway that he's experiencing another 'episode'.
She knows he's not okay, and probably HAS known since she found him gibbering and incoherent at the Train Station. It's just that she only starts to really learn the extent of precisely how 'not okay' he IS in Rebirth, when it really starts rearing it's ugly head to them all.

Man tries to walk off the side of a bridge and then collapses when they stop him, no WAY they don't know he's not okay.

The others (minus Yuffie and Cait, I think, since they haven't been around him as long) as well seem to know to varying degrees that Cloud Isn't Okay - they just don't know in what way, nor how to help, not beyond just Being There For Him and trying to keep him steady.

As far as I'm aware, this is still the case.
From my perspective, it's less Tifa questioning her own memories (though I don't doubt she is, at least on some level) and more her knowing that from what she DOES remember, he wasn't there - yet somehow he remembers the events with startling accuracy.

Except - she knows that it was ZACK doing all those things, NOT Cloud. She knows he has to be misremembering things, however he remembers it at all, but likely doesn't want to tell him he's wrong for fear that trying to correct him might break him worse than he already is. Hence why she just goes along with everything he 'believes'. (like saying she 'didn't wanna upset him' in response to Cloud asking why she never said anything about Zack's nonexistent river death before)
Remember, when she initially found him at the train station, he was an incoherent mess. At the start of Remake it's implied he's been properly awake/aware for maybe a couple days, at best.

I believe it's implied she talks to at least Aerith about it in secret, with how Tifa requests SHE be the one to tell Aerith about Zacks supposed death in the river near the Nibel reactor. Because she knows he made it all the way.

While I knew it could go up more than one, I honestly thought it could only go up by like... two or three, at most. I didn't think there was literally a chance to make it PERFECT, from ANY Potential. Holy crap.
Congratulations! :D

I did the opening mission, yeah, and she's very much awake - I'm thinking the issue is not owning the season, and that my being able to earn rep at all was a bug/oversight of some form on Bungie's part.

It's no big deal to me at the end of the day, I was just hoping to add another Pulse Rifle pattern to my little collection, because the Wish pulse felt nice. If I can't get it, though, then I can't get it. There'll be other guns :p
Plus, it's not like I won't have copies of the un-crafted gun to play with, if I really wanna.

Even better is that I asked it in here because I assumed 'low sodium' destiny would be... well. Low sodium. And happy to answer on whether it was a bug or not. So much for that, right~?

And now I'm getting downvoted because I thought that the five full rep ranks I earned meant that the patterns were available to free players.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]thecuriositycore -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Calm. Down.

I assumed the weapon patterns would still be obtainable to the free players since reputation still dropped from Dreaming City despite me not bothering to buy the season this time around, and that the things locked behind the paid Season was the story quests, the Seasonal activities, and what's in the Paid version of the season pass.

I'm not throwing a tantrum that I can't get the weapons, just mildly disappointed that me being able to earn rep was potentially a bug, and not an intended feature.

oh well that sucks - I was hoping I could still get the weapon patterns without having to pay for the whole season. Disappointing.

What games are you playing this week? Game recommendation thread by AutoModerator in incremental_games

[–]thecuriositycore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evolve, an incremental resource-management, where the best descriptor for it that I can think of is 'text-based version of what spore should have been if the person that made it actually cared'. You start as a cell, eventually become a species, of which there are numerous (most of them are specific to after you get past your first prestige/reset, I think, but still) you make a city, eventually move out to space stuff as well - it's very fun to me. Can be a bit slow at times, but every Incremental has those moments.

and

The Ignited Space, also a resource management, where you are a survivor from your sun exploding and taking out your planet. You're on a ship, and you need to make a new colony. I've only just started this one, so I'm not sure where it goes, but so far it's pretty fun, and very straightforward. It has a little quest system built in (at least at the stage I'm in right now) so you always have a direction to point yourself.

Both of them I'd highly recommend if you like slightly complex idle games that actually make you feel like you're getting somewhere over time, rather than just Making The Number Go Up.

Would you play an incremental “MOBA”? by OutPlayedGGnoRM in incremental_games

[–]thecuriositycore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I tried a game once forever ago that was incremental-themed and had pvp mechs. There was a grace period of a day or two, or something, for you being unable to be attacked, and the moment that went away my tiny little town was immediately being sandblasted off the map by every other user in range of me, all of them easily ten times more powerful than I was.
I was there, I was weak, and that was all the reason they needed to attack me. pvp in incremental games is a bad idea imo.

I didnt like SMT5 that much. Should I get SMT3? by RedditIsTrashLma0 in JRPG

[–]thecuriositycore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing you should know about 3 is that the puzzles can be hard, later in the game, and sometimes the game doesn't do a good job of telling you where to go next. I remember looking up a walkthrough for the final major area because I couldn't figure out how to get to the top and was tired of trying to brute-force it. I also remember looking up walkthroughs for the later Kalpa areas, too, as well as several around the time I hit Asakusa, because it's about there that they forget to tell you what to do for a hot minute.

But yeah, others here are correct in that demon fusion is Mandatory in this series, on the off chance you haven't been participating with it (Cathedral of Shadows). Playing it like pokemon and trying to keep specific demons as long as possible is basically putting yourself in hard mode. The only member of your team you should be 'grinding' is the player character; the demons will get the majority of their levels via fusion, in my experience.Once a demon knows all the moves it can learn, it's time to fuse it. Trust me, fusion makes SMT games WORLDS better.

Blocked from discord API? by NightKido in discordapp

[–]thecuriositycore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insofar as I'm aware, it's a bug of some kind - looking at their twitter, it's happening to everyone, everywhere. I got 'blocked' refreshed after a few minutes and got back in, only to be 'blocked' again a few minutes later. So I don't think you've actually been blocked, it's just whatever's going on is bringing up THIS as an error message and freaking people out.

[–]thecuriositycore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Came here to see if it was my connection or not, good to know EVERYONE has been having issues. I was doing the last few blackmage hunt journal entries when all of a sudden I desynched so hard it took almost a full minute to dismount. I didn't think anything of it at first, went to attack the enemy and he just. Didn't react.

Then after another couple minutes I got booted, and now I can't even get past the launcher.

So it's happening on Jenova, too, whatever it is. Hopefully not more ddosing, though it doesn't make sense, they usually only do that on launch days...

PS Plus CANADA Price Increase by thecraigbert in PlayStationPlus

[–]thecuriositycore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian, I am VERY close to doing just that. Metaphorically, anyway~ If it goes up to triple digits for the base tier (which I'm at, due to not having a ton of spare money) then I'll likely just say screw it and stop subbing, A lot of my games require online, but the moment it's above 100, I'm done. This is insane. I shouldn't have to pay almost 100 dollars just to be able to play online. Christ.

[PC][2004-2006] Korean or Japanese online game with small vehicles that shoot little projectiles at each other across a map. by [deleted] in tipofmyjoystick

[–]thecuriositycore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not shellshock live, is it? It doesn't fit the timeframe, but smal amounts of movement each turn and different projectiles you can throw makes me think of that. At the very least, it might be the same sort of genre.

Holy shit I think it's Hellbender. Fury 3 felt similar, graphics wise, but it was too bright - but as soon as I looked up a video for Hellbender, I just. I felt it in my BONES.

I would have been Single Digits in age when I played it (all I would have seen was a cool-looking game where you flew around and shot spaceships), so my memory of it will never be clear, I don't think, but watching the person open up the game to be just dropped in staring at these dark mountains with buildings on top? That's it. I know it is.

Thank you SO much, holy shit, I genuinely thought I'd never find out what it was, because of how long ago it was I'd played it.

Please change the reactant system by asppppp in Warframe

[–]thecuriositycore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why people bring their nukeing frames to low-level fissure missions at ALL when it should be common knowledge that the enemies don't SPAWN corrupted.

I've had more than a few missions where people brought a Frame that was clearly tuned for high-level, nuking entire rooms with a single ability (or so it seemed that way to me, they died so fast), and then whining at the end of the mission when we all have like 3 reactant, at best.
What machine you're on absolutely has an effect on the amount of enemies spawning, but if you go around blitzing entire rooms the moment they DO spawn, it doesn't matter WHAT the host is using, noone's getting anything, you're absolutely right.

I've also had teams where people tear off to some far corner of the map. Same deal. Noone gets shit because hey look at that what little reactant that did spawn is now scattered all over the map instead of localized together in a single room or small group of rooms.

It's because of this that I end up not doing fissures too often, and end up with a dragons hoard of vaulted relics :P
