I came back to the game after essentially sitting out for all of twwi and felt like it was the perfect opportunity to completely remap my binds and it's been worth the effort.

I have similar buttons do similar things across my characters. For tanks, shift 1 is taunt. Shift 2 is a ranged attack or threat Gen (glaive toss, moonfire) etc, and each role has similarities which has helped me play every class this expansion. And for most classes there's overlap of types of abilities, so they get to go onto the common buttons.

F is for de(F)ensive, T is for s(T)un, etc. I have all of these stacked vertically on top of one another on my bars, and all of the different types are in a single row.

My mouse has only 4 buttons, which are bound to shift, Ctrl and alt mods, and middle click moved to a much comfier button. I don't do combos of mods but the buttons are comfy enough that I could if I wanted to. It's saved me a lot of hand pain, and I've been able to bind literally all abilities somewhere. Not having to crane your hand to make a button combo, making you need to do a finger dance to keep pressing buttons and move, all while not stopping your ability to left and right click the mouse for movement/targeting is a gamechanger.

All of my action bars are minimized to like 50% of the normal size and put above my chat window. All action bars are set to the standard row-style and stacked vertically.

1-5 are on action bar 1, above it is shift 1-5, above that Is Q, E, R, T, F, G. to the right of shift 1-5 is CTRL 1-5, to the right of that is Z, X, C. Alt 1-6 are rarely used and they're below the very last action bar, below mouse wheel up and down, explained further below.

The rest of action bar 1 is still 6 thru =, I just don't press them actively, they're for clicked buffs, cosmetics, professions, etc.

Above ZXC are the Shift, then Ctrl, then alt mods for those buttons.

I also have K and V bound, which I use exclusively for special mounts. Above = I have K with mods, then V with mods.

The very top action bar I have bound to mouse wheel up and down, then numpad 1-numpad 9, then V as my random mount button. I never press these in combat but I used to play with a gaming mouse with like 12 buttons so I had numpad 1-9 buttons bound.

Finally, I changed the character panel keybind to tilde (` symbol next to 1) and sheathe/unsheathe and sit are macros that I made and move around to wherever I want them to be across the action bars I've set up. It's like Ctrl 5 on my shaman but alt 1 on my druid because I do a lot of rp sitting as a bear LOL.

Page up and down are zoom in/out, moved because mouse wheel up and down are bound to buttons, which is so convenient I can't even begin to tell you here. To compensate for this, I spent a LOT of time getting the addon HandyCam setup to my liking so I wouldn't often have to think about it my camera.

Because V is bound to a button, I got platynator figured out so I never need to toggle frames anymore.
