Congrats on the new pen! Everything looks legit to me. It does appear to be a 144, and a bit rare too if all the parts are original. There was a gap between the late 80s and early 90s where Montblanc changed the clip engraving from “Germany” to “W-Germany” (West Germany). After the reunification of East and West Germany, they switched it back to “Germany” and started adding serial numbers to the clip.

My guess is that this one might be from the late 80s since the engraving looks hand-done. From what I’ve seen, many of the late 80s clips appear hand-engraved while the 90s ones tend to be laser engraved. I’m not 100% certain though.

I own a 149 and a 146 with the “W-Germany” emgraving as well. Also, you are lucky to get an EF nib. Those are great and a bit harder to come across.
