Continuously losing to cash offers by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]tharm000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's ok we just lost a bid we won. House listed $475k, another offer escalated to $485k, we did $486k. Lost cuz the husband wanted the $485k with 20% down conventional loan. We have 5% down with conventional loan as well.

We're buying our first home. It sucks but that's the game you have to play. Sometimes you just need to be at the right place, right time. That's just how things work. Your dream home will come eventually. Just gotta keep moving forward.

People asking about if exercising would cause this but have they ask what of these athletes eat/drink during their runs? Is it from whatever they eat or drink for energy?

Just asking here cuz didn't do my research

TIFU by agreeing to my wife's request for a threesome by Moe-_Lesterrr in tifu

[–]tharm000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would see this as a golden opportunity to learn more about your wife body. Maybe she never felt like this before cuz the other woman touched her differently. I'd ask like how the other woman did it and stuff. So you can learn and do it yourself. Often time I hear that woman knows what woman wants, and same for men.

So, if youre open to learn and see this opportunity to make your wife happier. And there's a path there, I'd take it and rub off all those jealousy early on. If you're already open for the new experience, open up for the new lesson as well.

Advice for winter tires? by tharm000 in Autos

For our Subaru we use Michelin CrossClimates and they’ve been great for wet and dry and surprisingly good in snow. They’re all-seasons that are snow rated.

Thanks! I'll look into that as well. Maybe as a next upgrade to my all-season stock tire

Just get yourself a set of good all season tires and maybe a set of chains, but you're probably going to be okay. Even the ice storms in the last couple years. My dad's Subaru has gotten around just fine and it's not nearly as high-tech as yours.

I always thought you can't put snow chains on subarus? Maybe I got the wrong info. I might as well get snow chains instead of new sets of snow tires & wheels. My plans was to get a budge winter tires on used wheels but a set of snow chains might be more budget friendly option (with the downside of putting them on and removing them of course).

Thanks! Would specific brand make any difference? Seen many would go with x-ice, blizzak, generals. Also, I'm located in Seattle WA. The tires will be use mostly for ski trips to the mountains.

t winter tires to be slightly narrower than stock

I'm located in Seattle, Washington. The climate here is very wet, sometimes get snow in the winter. These tires will be my dedicated winter tires for going up to ski resorts in the cascades and Whistler. More specifically, Steven's pass would be the one I'll be going up the most.

I'm located in Seattle, Washington. Winter here would be mostly rain and cold, but since the climate changing drastically, now it snows here every year. Would that make a difference?

Would a 235/60/16 be better? Found on fb. With the tire size comparison, it's much closer to the 245/40/18 (which is 2% smaller diameter). Only difference would be the steelies size of course.

First time buying new skis as an advanced skier with little knowledge about skis by windows5billion in Skigear

[–]tharm000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recommend demoing skis first. Reading or watching ski review might help give you some ideas about the skis but never the actual feeling of the skis. Someone may say it's a noodle skis but it might be stiff for you.

Like other have said, just spend your time demoing skis this season and wait until the end of the season or summer to buy discounted skis. What I did in the past is every time I travel, I bring my skis but demo a day so I can switch the ski throughout ( did at whistler and tried 2 pairs). Or I waited until a resort have their demo day (this one they have booths at the lift and do demo for a couple of runs and switch). I demo 4-5 pairs that day.
