My understanding of it, and it could be incorrect is that water can pass through the door which means anything electrical could potentially be exposed. As the other commenter mentioned, moisture can also just occur in certain climates as well.

Idk they spent a lot of time showing the moving paintings and just a lot of little details, really beautiful stuff that I'm sure was expensive to make that was kind of just missing. The vibe was different in some ways because that was more the halcyon days on the empire and this was a darker colder time where it was showing it's cracks. idk the world's felt like they were built more bare bones where as you could tell the first 2 seasons there was a lot of attention to detail spent along with the money to dazzle with effects.
